Dead Space 2 - Done :)

Finally played through the first two games (Dead Space 1 was my first 100%) and really can't wait for the 3rd installment now.

I know most wont care but geez, that last battle on Dead Space on Zeelot was really beginning to be a struggle!  Watched loads of different vids of it but in the end did it with a fully upgraded Plasma Cutter.

Awesome game........maybe even better then the first........maybe :smileyhappy:

Nah the first dead space was the best by a long shot as the tension level was alot higher.

And playing in the dark with surround sound realy added to the effect, dead space 1 also has the best use of surround sound i've heard in any game yet.

All they did with the second one was make the monsters harder to kill not that it isn't a great game aswell.

Dead Space 2 is a very awesome game for sure :smileyhappy:. not too sure about DS3, but hopefully itll turn out better than it sounds.

the super special unlock you get for completing Hardcore difficulty would have made your Zealot runthrough a cakewalk :smileywink:.

Re: Dead Space 2 - Done :)

MY first run through was done on Zealot but as I understand, Hardcore is the same as Zealot but with only 3 saves!!!!!  This sounds ever so slightly impossible to me!

............wont stop me trying though (not sure how it is possible on just three saves though)

I haven't attempted hardcore yet  but the best way i can of doing it is rely on the auto save & try & save your manual saves for the tougher sections in later levels.

Errrr, you don't get an Auto Save on hardcore, you die without saving, you have to start again! You have 3 manual saves, nothing else!!!!

Had deadspace 1 & 2 since their releases.

Ive recommended it to tons of people that still haven't played it, or people who rave about 2 but have never played 1..???

Love 1! Cant believe im only now after all these years, finally trying to beat it on impossible, inbetween online games.
Its also the first time ive given it a proper play since ive had my 5.1. Which makes it even more awesome, shame the blinds dont block out all the light in the day time...

Ive only played 2 the once and need to play it again, to give it a fairer trial.
Think im going to have to play zelot, with out the 'hardcore perks'... Doubt ill ever get the chance to even attempt it with those saves being quite time restrictive :-(

Edit discussion above ^ ^ ^ was happening as I wrote.

So do you get "check points"? I'd always assumed if you die, you die, back to chapter 1 or one of those saves..?

Re: Dead Space 2 - Done :)

There are NO checkpoints! If you die & haven't made a manual save yet you start from the beginning again. If you've made a manual save you will start from there. It really isn't as bad as it sounds but one mistake can cost you hours of gameplay!

Re: Dead Space 2 - Done :)

Im in the nursery part on Dead Space 2 but its awesome so far, walking down a hallway with 'twinkle twinkle little star' playing in the background is really creepy, i didnt get very far into Dead Space 1 before i stopped playing but Dead Space 2 has made me want to retry the first game

@groundbreaker91
Do you mind if I ask where, when and why you stopped playing DS1?

I really need to finish 1 again so I can start on 2 (again)...
Still haven't watched the 20min game-play vid (EDIT: of deadspace 3) over on the other thread....
Going to soon!
