enslaved and uncharted

hi !

I loved all three uncharted games but now Ive run out of them so Im looking for something new to play along the same lines . Would you recommend enslaved ? I know its a differnt game but I fell in love with the exploration of strange worlds part of uncharted and enslaved looks similar in that way . Would I be disappointed ? Do you have any other ideas for games like uncharted ? My ps3 is not connected to the public internet so I don't care about multiplayer for now .

thanks !

Re: enslaved and uncharted

enslaved is a fun game but i dunno why they compared it to uncharted in reviews and stuff because really its nothing like uncharted.

i got enslaved because of the comparisons with uncharted but as i sad the games are nothing alike, that said though i did really enjoy enslaved but thats not to say others who liked uncharted are gonna like enslaved though.

Re: enslaved and uncharted

Other than being third person adventure games with a few puzzles there's litle to compare between them.

The Uncharted games are undeniably superior but while Enslaved is a little short, takes itself seriously and is a bit twee it is a good game. It has some interesting artwork, controls well enough and zipped by nicely for me, it's definitely worth a rent.

Enslaved is a very good game. Renting the game is somewhat pointless when you can buy the game for approximately 2 pounds more.

The Pigsy's Perfect Ten DLC for Enslaved...I found the DLC to be more enjoyable than the main story.

Enslaved is such an underrated game. Barr the glitches in things like camera angles an getting lost/stuck in a limbo that didn't exist forcing you to restart a check point etc Which I felt let an otherwise brilliant game and story. I really hope they do do a sequel. I didn't play the DLC but might have a look at the £s after writing this.

I think maybe the comparisons might of been based on the lush looking greenery of the 'jungle' look UC has in parts

.

But they are very different types of games in my eyes.. The play style of enslaved was more like a god of war.

As you said about loving exploration. I would suggest Red Dead Redemption, this is an open world game as oppose to UC & enslaved 'corridors'.

Red Dead has LOADS to explore and do/find (so you wont complete it all in a hurry) and has some of, if not the most beautiful views vistas to look at in any gaming ive experienced. (UC2 Close but you cant 'touch' some of what you see)

The areas to explore arnt different 'worlds' but you have anything from snow top hills to forests to the 'red sandy' places with rolling tumble weed,  plus more.

It still has shooting unlike enslaved, Fun story too etc.

(all this is from someone that Hates westerns, so dont let that put you off (if thats what your thinking))

Another suggestion would be the Assassins creed series (i would start with AC2) This also has nice views, things to do and a deep story. Although its mostly beautiful architecture as oppose to panoramic natural views.

Hope this was helpful, and not too long a read. :smileyfrustrated:

Re: enslaved and uncharted

I can't recommend Enslaved enough. I played it at the Eurogamer Expo a couple of years ago, fell in love. Got home, downloaded the demo and played that a lot. I don't get easily swayed by demos but this had me hooked. If you're after a taster I'd recommend giving it a go too.

I really enjoyed the story and the characters. Although I do hate games that baby you and Enslaved certainly does that, not allowing you to make a wrong jump or fall off a cliff accidentally. Only downside to such an underrated game.

Re: enslaved and uncharted

I've never really looked at enslaved but after reading this I might give it a go.

Have you looked at mass effect? 2 was brilliant, I am 30 hours into 3 and enjoying it so far. (I have heard people are not happy with it but I have managed to avoid spoilers. I will make my own judgement when I get to the end)

Re: enslaved and uncharted

Enslaved was an okay game, just got too repetitive. Also it's quite short, I started playing it one afternoon and by that night I had finished it...

There's a fourth Uncharted, Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Get that :smileywink:
