Now that the wait is finally over and the game is out please tell us what you think in this very thread, we'd love to hear your feedback and look forward to your bizarre animal related gaming stories!
Tokyo Jungle is back in the spotlight! Following a lengthy silence, the unique PlayStation 3 title, developed by Sony's PlayStation Camp initiative, has reemerged in this week's Famitsu and at Famitsu.com.
The screens at Famitus.com show the game's two modes: story and survival.
In story mode, you work through individual stories for each animal. If you clear each story, it's possible that you'll learn the reason that mankind disappeared from the Earth and let animals take over Tokyo.
Unfortunately, Famitsu still lists the game with a general 2011 release time frame, so there's no word yet on when exactly we'll get to play. But the game's reemergence from silence is a good sign that the wait won't be too long.
Tokyo Jungle + Lollipop Chainsaw = madness!
I hope this game doesn't get delayed - i've wanted since the first time I saw a video for it in 2010 - I'm going to be a pomeranian in a kerchief weeing all over Tokyo :smileyvery-happy:
in the meantime I've been playing Dog's Life (remember that wacky game) and the somewhat pervy but wonderful Mr. Moskeeto both fun romps on the ps2
GamesRadar gave it a 2.5 our of 5
I quite like the idea of random events though :catfrustrated:
Hi everyone, here are a couple more reviews for the game!
Let’s get the obvious out of the way early: Tokyo Jungle is gloriously, unapologetically mental.
A surprisingly poignant story
And a new launch trailer!
mental I can't wait - legs hurt from doing I'm impatient dance - as it gets closer to its release watch me have a stroke or something from excitement
Hi Guys - Here's my review of Tokyo Jungle if you're interested :D
IGN reviewed it well too...
IGN reviewed it well too...
Not bad at all! really looking forward to this, even more now. Only problem is I've hardly had a chance to play any games of late.
PS - saw about your game in GD, nice going. Looks like folks really like it!
Thanks :) Yeah, everyone who's tried it likes it (26 ratings on the UK store, nothing but 5*), but the problem now is raising visibility...
But that is waaaay off topic. Maybe you could play Tokyo Jungle at work for, er, "research purposes"? If it helps, I will send in a grief report saying it displays offensive material after 25 hours play.
Of course, I'd delete this message to hide the paper trail ;)
LOL I'll defo be playing it at work anyhow. But I do need to sit down and actually play some games, I have so many half done.
I'll be in the same boat as you soon, I'm re-editing a novel and will be self publishing on e-book stores hopefully by the end of October... I say hopefully.
I'll have to tweet about your game at some point :)
As for Tokyo Jungle, I'm still hoping I'll get my hands on some promotional items to give away. Need to chase that up actually.
please tell me its still coming out in the UK on the 26th - I don't think I could bear the disappointment if it was delayed.
a friend of mine worked at Sony from 1998 -2008 started as a games tester and was in management for awhile (Liverpool). He made it seem like they couldn't chose the games they tested. He wasn't happy there after the whole Manhunt 2 incident and the way Sony cracked down unilaterally on everyone.
about a year ago I was playing the demo for rub a dub and he went into a 45 minute rant about the game and told me to turn it off - was like showing sunlight to a vampire:Lol: I guess he worked on the testing of that
As far as I am aware it is still that same date :)
In the meantime the Guardian have a review up on their blog!
"But despite its tongue-in-cheek nature, Tokyo Jungle is a superb game. It feels quite unlike anything else (the best description of it would be a stealth-action-survival-RPG), it's laugh-out-loud funny and incredibly moreish. And because of its rigorous, sandbox construction, it's unusually meaty for a download game, with plenty of replayability. If you fear that modern games play it too safe, Tokyo Jungle will restore your faith."
Good news everyone.
Keep yoru eyes peeled for a Tokyo Jungle contest coming up not long after I get back from my holiday :catvery-happy:
well I just hope we get all the dlc the US received yesterday plus a plus discount
