The Can Launching Slingshot/Catapult
The Concept:
I reckon if you get a can of soup travelling fast enough that it will surely be able to decapitate any zombie or at least slow it down considerably. So the idea is to create a slingshot/caterpult or can launching device which you can aim and arm yourself with againist the coming horde of zombies.
What you need:
Canned goods- I mean anything canned, peaches, soup, tuna... there is zombies everywhere and I am sure they are not gonna mind what you hit them with ![]()
An engine- any engine will do however the more convient and lighter options are the lawnmover or whippersnipper. This is for pulling back the slingshot or spinning the arm of the catapult.
Timber planks or metal bars- This is for the framing of the device, how will you come across materials like this? Well first of all.... Zombies are everywhere!!!! pull down wooden fences, strip the guttering from your house, what ever you can find.
Duct tape, glue, rope- Anything to stick, tie or fuse together the parts of the device.
Optional parts:
Inflammable sprays and liquids- anything that will combust and cause enough of a bang eg hairspray, metholayted spirits, oil.
How it works:
After building the framing for your large slingshot/catapult, rig up the motor using a belt and prepare to fire. Alternatively if your too lazy to build it, just throw the cans really hard
See picture below for further details.
Variant:
The ammunition for this weapon is designed to be interchangable allowing any human survivor to use what ever is available, although designed with cans of soup in mind, you could use bundles of cutlery, tools or bannanas. Why bannanas? Because every gamer knows bannana peels are a slipping hazard which will further slow down your zombie prey. Also if you are ever hungry (and if you remembered the can opener) you have a store of food right with you. After removing the contents of the cans, you could add your own concotion of chemicals and inflamable liquids found in any household to create your own launchable grenades or molotovs of Zombie death. Each projectile will now douse the Zombies in burning chemicals or inflamable materials, and if they keep coming after been pelted by cans of soup, you could ignite them with a burning pointy stick which all survivors should have. How are you meant to check if a zombie is really dead without a flaming pointy stick? ![]()
Possible Back-up Weapons:Molotov Jars of Vegemite?- Empty the jar by indluging on some vegemite related meals and fill with inflammable liquids, chuck in a burning wick and throw, simple.

Rations can be scarce in times of zombie outbreak, so while canned foods do indeed make great ammunition, I'll be hanging onto mine for snacking purposes during those long nights indoors.
I prefer instead to put my faith in an alternative projectile that's safe as houses - in fact, it is houses: Bricks. Good old bricks, they're in abundant supply everywhere. That neighbour who always mowed the lawn really early on Saturday mornings won't mind if I take a sledge to his wall and borrow a few. I mean, it's not like he needs that wall to protect him from the flesh-eating horde.
Of course we're going to need an effective brick-delivery system, so a quick trip into the shed is required to connect the air compressor to a five foot length of rectangular steel downpipe. Make sure the end of the pipe connected to the compressor is properly sealed with copious amounts of duct tape. Tape a laser pointer on the other end and that's your brick-firing-bazooka right there.
Drop a brick in the pipe, line up the red dot right between our undead friends' eyes and let her rip. A brick-shaped hole where the walking dead's brain was means they won't be walking anywhere.
So that's my bricks n' mortar (geddit?) approach.
When the zombie apocalypse comes, bricks will be ...shot.

I would probably grab the following things - the old swing set in my back yard, the trampoline and various tools from my shed. I would try and create some kind of swinging, bouncing catapault system where the tools fling off the swing into the trampoline then into the zombies..or trap the zombies on the trampoline with promise of brains (sheeps brains from the butcher of course) then fling things at them via the swing.

Hah, true indeed, bricks are a great alternative to canned goods
I shall keep your ingenuity in mind for a coming Zombie attack

Hooked up to a keg of beer filled with many assorted acids (and not beer) found around the house (Don't mix on the packet means nothing),
Hey man,
If we both win and end up going to this event, make sure you bring this weapon, but fill it up with beer ok.. ![]()
After drinking, my bro will be the zombie again like he's been in past events.
