BBC Sports Application coming to PlayStation 3!

Exciting news for lovers of all things sports! Together with the BBC, we're bringing a new application to your PlayStation 3. The BBC Sports app.

The BBC Sports app will sit on your XMB, feeding you with highlights of key sporting events during the summer and beyond. Throughout the London 2012 Olympics alone, the app will deliver 2,500 hours of content and up to 24 simultaneous events, all in glorious HD and all at the touch of the X button.

Plus catch other sporting highlights, like Wimbledon and Formula One™, where you'll be able to take command of your viewing experience with an array of camera angles, live streaming footage and interactive experience

The best bit? It's completely free and it's coming to your PlayStation 3 this summer, before Wimbledon 2012 kicks off in June.

Sounds good but will the app be used for just highlights or will live content be available as well?

Will Wimbledon have live coverage as well?

I can watch it from my TiVo box, but it would be handy if live coverage was on PS3 as well.

This is a port of the Tivo app that will also be on VM/Tivo boxes. its being ported to Sony TV's and BD players. ( which the PS3 is. )

The Tivo app has..

Live Sport Feeds up to 24 live feeds for the Olympics, Red button content, and IPTV catch up content and Will be permanent extra this was mainly built for the Olympics but the BBC will keep it running after.

Its not been announced how much of the Tivo app content will be on other devices. ( Likely they don't even know themselves yet. )

That's great news, as the vids on the bbc website don't load, and some of the live feeds will be a fantastic addition as I only have freeview.
