Pretty hard to be understanding when an update enforced upon us is bugged so badly it locks up tons of consoles - causing us to not only be without a console we paid good money for, but also to lose game saves, pictures, music etc that it has taken us months, hundreds of man hours and tons of effort to accumulate.
Where's the compo?

i downloaded firmware 2.40 last night, it took around 5 hours to download, and install. I understand about peak times, but since the update, my PS3 timeouts when I try to connect to the PSN, and my downloads in my download manager are taking an absolute age to finish. My internet connection is fine, signal strength is at 100%. One demo is at 4% and I started downloading it almost two hours ago. What gives?
is this normal since the update? what exactly are the problems people have been reporting? i've checked the playstation blog, threespeech, but i don't feel like trolling through hundreds of forum posts trying to find my answers.
can anyone help? thanks in advance
