This is an announcement.
There’s a new boy in town. He works for Sony and his title is “English Community Coordinator”. We are of course talking about me. Since “me” is one of my favourite subjects you are about to hear quite a lot. You may need some snacks to go with that drink!
Perhaps a few of you already know me; a few more may have seen my occasional ramblings across all the PlayStation Europe Forums. Quite a lot of you probably have no idea who I am. Well my name is BongoFrenzy and I love console gaming. (I would also like to save the dolphins, but not here, not now).
What do I do here?
My new role here, within Sony towers is as an English Community Coordinator. What does that mean? Well, my primary role is to maintain and develop the Online gaming community, keeping a visible presence in games, on the forums and providing support for our team of PlayStation Volunteers. I will also be setting up and hosting competitions and events, giving you lot plenty of opportunity to win prizes.
So, put simply, I will be lurking, answering questions, helping, organizing and playing my way towards our goal; of making online gaming on the PlayStation the very best experience you could possibly hope for.
So, who am I?
I have been a PlayStation 2 owner since it was released in November 2000. I queued up in my local high street with one intention, a ps2 and a copy of SSX snow boarding. I joined the Beta Trial Group when it started in 2003 and joined the ranks of the Central Station Volunteers later the same year. I have been an active member of these and a number of other PlayStation forums since early 2003. I play a variety of online games, the SOCOM series and Jak X to name a couple.
So, what happens now?
Immediately not a great deal, there are a number of changes already scheduled to take place during the course of the next week or so; however, most of my time for the minute will be spent gathering lists of things which need addressing, so that I can prioritise my time effectively. With your help I am very much hoping that we can create a great place to hang out, both within these forums and within PlayStation online games.
