Hey Everyone 

After feedback concerning the search functionality, we're implementing 2 improvements to make searching easier and more accurate.

The first improvement is to the "Advanced Search"

With this new option you can now search for topics or messages posts more quickly and accurately. You will have the ability to filter your searches by author, date, solutions/kudos and images.

The second improvement is to the search bar.

The new search engine is faster and more efficient, it's a bit similar to the one used on Google.com. 

When you enter a word into the search box, a suggestions list will appear showing matches related to the words in search box. You can enable or disable suggestions from the drop down box if you don't want to use it. 

Well that covers all of the improvements to the search function.Keep an eye out for more new shiny things coming to OPC in the new year

Looks good.

I still really miss the dropdown bar to navigate between forums though, instead of having to go through 3 menus and pages to get to where I want.

What is really important to remember when searching is the forum structure.

Searching by:

Board will search only the forum you are looking at

Category will search the category you are in - eg: Announcements, Events and Feedback or Games: Family

Community will search the whole forum

Users will search for user names.

yes, it's called don't click 'sign out'

I never do but sometimes when I come back on I am logged out
