Will be a sad day indeed. My EoJ will be defunct because when I play it I only play it online :smileysad:

RIP EoJ: One of my favourite games and one of the most unique games on PS3. Sadly it's not surprising it's getting its life support turned off but still.....allow me a moment of reflection. I would like to mourn in private :smileysad:

Mods what is Sony's official response to this?

How do I register an offical complaint and ask for compensation or for the severs to remain on line?

I'm sure Sony will have made you click on 'accept' somewhere that covers them for this.

Why can people not be a bit more mature about this?

The game is around 3 years old and was never hugely popular from the start. Although I'm disappointed to see the end of Sony supporting this game you must accept that the userbase for it simply isn't there and therefore is not commercially viable to keep the servers running.

Last time I played this I only managed a couple of games in around an hour, an hour which consisted mainly of waiting for someone to join my game. I did searches and came up with nothing so is it really that much of a surprise to see the end of it?

Wow. I never actually played this game, but I followed it's progress while it was being developed. Sad to see a games servers being shut down. Why have they? Inactivity?

Re: Notice of Termination of Service - [The Eye of Judgement]

I still play it as do others, organising games via friends lists and forums.

Some dedicated players have been playing big bucks for rare origional cards even recently.

First, I can just regret that you did not like or understand the game well enough to get caught. There are however plenty of players who bought a PS3 mainly because of this game. It is unique and one of its kind. There are also good reasons for its lack of popularity and I can tell you that it is not because of EoJ being a boring game. I have played around 2000 matches online, lasting from between eight minutes up to one and a half hour each. If you played two games in an hour, I would say that it is quite normal.

EoJ is by far the computer game that the ones playing it has spent

i) the most money on (around 800€ myself), and

ii) the most time on, since it has last the longest.

Ok, I have played other games as well, Valkyria Chronicles being one, Dragon Age Origins another, great games both of them, but I have _always_ returned to EoJ, simply because the others lack the strategic depth (yet being simple to play) that EoJ has.

One have to wonder what the cost of running the EoJ server is compared to the badwill Sony creates at the moment. I have half my home filled with Sony stuff, but if they shut the server down, I will definitely look for other brands when replacing the Sony stuff I have. I simply do not like to support them if they do not care more for their customers than to shut down a server less than three years from launch. IF it is such a burden for them, the only fair solution would be to arrange a peer to peer patch that make the servers obsolete, yet letting us play online, or to hand over the whole project including servers to the EoJ community, so that we can run it ourselves.

If we do not protest now, what will Sony do next? Will the LBP servers shut down half a year after the release of LBP2 simply because the activity dropped? I do not accept that Sony f*** with me anymore and I will let them know what I feel.
