Revelations abit of a chore...

Hi all,

I dunno if its just me, but played through AC1, AC2 and Brotherhood recently, just started Revelations, and i just cant get into it as i did the others, its feeling like a chore!

Did / does anyone else find this? Or is it just me and some AC overload?

Re: Revelations abit of a chore...

I felt a bit like this especially levelling up my assassins and when the blooming templars would go hide / reclaim an area etc. A bit repetitive but the story was good. Stick at it.

Re: Revelations abit of a chore...

I felt the same.... I think I have exhausted my interest in the series... AC1 was extremely repetitive, AC2 a huge leap forward, ACB introduced a few new things and the online side, ACR was just a number of disjointed ideas to add meat to an old formula.

I could not stand the set-pieces battles (can't even remember the name now). Desmond's island was pathetic as well.

I seriously doubt I am going to buy the next game in October unless I read glowing reviews from real gamers (not from sites with a vested interest with Ubisoft).

Re: Revelations abit of a chore...

Well, i finally took your guys advice, seeing as i am off uni and had a few days off work, and just completed AC Revelations... gameplay wise, it was a little of a chore, but storyline was brilliant as ever!

The one thing i felt was much improved over the other AC games, isnt even gameplay, but was the music. I dont know if its just me, but the music just felt perfect and right for each set piece, for each scenario.

Loved the ending, and no so hyped for AC3!

So, if anyone else feels Revelations is a chore, persevere (spelling??) with it, it is well worth the play through for the storyline and the ending.

Re: Revelations abit of a chore...

Yeah, i have watched Embers, thats pretty good too.

SPOILERS:

The CGI part was showing the world before, as "The others" knew it, when a solar flare of some kind destroyed the earth, leaving 10,000 people and some of "The others" to rebuild civilisation, though im not sure what that has to do with the present day section of things

Re: Revelations abit of a chore...

what i found with games that tend to drag on and seem like a chore, is that its all in the mind, if you think of it as a chore then it will be, i thought the first one was abit of a chore, then i did a little reading into the history, and BANG! it become exciting knowing about the past history and playing with it in game, try doing a little research into that era?

Re: Revelations abit of a chore...

Revelations was a good story but the bomb making was useless to me. I did use it to get a trophy or 2 but that is about it!

Re: Revelations abit of a chore...

Agreed, i didnt even use the bomb making, even for the trophies (they dont bother me really). I rarely used the bombs, sticking to the series favourites of pistols, throwing knives and poisons for the secondary weapons and distraction techniques.

Also, the hook blade made climbing the taller buildings / larger gaps way too easy. i remember in AC2, when you learnt how to reach higher about halfway into the game, and then Brotherhood you got the glove, again about halfway through. the hook blade (Yusef - "The hook blade has two functions... the hook, and the blade"... you dont say...) from near-enough the start made it seem very simple, though thats probably just me being picky lol

Re: Revelations abit of a chore...

lol yes I think they have made alot of changes in AC3. I think most will be for the better.

Altho I have only really seen gameplay of the single player and talk of co-op. Nothing much else really. I know you can have 3 perks now.
