I am also a PC gamer as well and have had to do that in the past, so yes I know. I still disagree with it, because as you see here, all PS3 games (except maybe this one) do not require ports to be opened, so why on Earth can't PC devs code things the same way?

Security concerns are much higher for PC because there are known ways to hack them and viruses and what-have-you that focus on Windows. That doesn't mean such things will never happen to consoles, just as they are beginning to appear for Macs.

@ Spitfyer If you look in any EA Game manual they all list ports if your playing through a firewall/router in my collection BFBC 1 & 2, Burnout Paradise, Need For Speed HP, Mercs 2 Mirrors Edge and Medal of Honor all list ports in the manual.

I just went for DMZ easier than opening ports plus UPnP is not too reliable on my router plus my other devices are still safely behind a firewall.

Works fine for me ,  just tried it .   If you are using wireless do an experiment and try and see if it works wired and when it does you can be sure its your wireless set up thats at fault .

your right he is not talking about the voice chat but i am, ive pointing out another fault, which is of course that the voice chat doesnt work and never has in this game, he posted it was a faulty goods and I agreed,simply pointed out another fault, a broken component and major flaw in what was supposed to be a team playing game
