Well since the BC2 servers were down this morning i decided to have a go on BC1 for old times sake and i have to say i was suprised at how bad and also good it felt compared to BC2.

I mean the first thing i noticed was how much better the guns look graphically (seriously they look alot more detailed).

However the controls are pretty harsh as are the movements and the vehicles are alot harder to handle.

Target spotting and pressing select for assistance are the two greatest features added to BC2 imo.

Other than that though i was suprised by how similar it looked visually to BC2 considering it is 2 years older.

How does everyone else feel BC2 stacks up against its predecessor?

I miss proper health meters, I loved getting sniped in the open in harvest day and being able to run off stabbing myself over and over with the auto injector, or throwing med packs at my feet, making it to safety by the skin of me teeth lol.

I know what you mean. It was evident but not too offputting when BC1 was released but putting it side by side with BC2 now shows it up imo.

exactly tnk, after playing the BC2 demo and then going back on BC1, i couldnt believe the difference

I think the map deisgn was far superior on BC1 but everything else (controls, graphics, gameplay and unlocks) are better on BC2.

@ Vantage..........m8 I agree with everything you've said except for one thing. You seem to think that the guns looked better on BFBC1 than on BFBC2. NO WAY M8. Go and compare one single gun in both games....... My suggestion on which gun would be the Uzi. Compare the detail on both when just held in your hand, when firing and especially when reloading. The level of detail is far higher in BFBC2, so much so that you can even see the little red paint on the imprinted text for the safety switch. BFBC2 ALL THE WAY

The maps are a trillion times better this time around and for me thats the big bonus.

Also, I love how engineers aren´t limited to just shotguns anymore. Those guns were dang useless in the open maps of BC1.

The single player was better, more comical and wittier IMO and the trophies was better having both medium and hard requiring 2 separate play through's to get them.. I miss Par for the Courses of course lol and I hope we see that as DLC later in the year.

Also preferred the controls for the helos and vehicles using the left shoulder buttons to go up & down or forwards/reverse and the right ones for fire/alt fire. Why they removed the option I do not now But I have got use to BC2 controls but I still preferred BC1

Stunning visuals and sound in both modes. Not quite the single player I was hoping for but I only mean that in a comical sense. BC1 was the better experience for me. Love destruction 2.0 and the Frostbite engine is the best ever made delivering sheer mayhem on a massive scale making the game world as realistic as they will ever come.

Trophies made to easier to access and no real challenge. No one could of platinumed BC1 in a matter of days but I'm glad these aren't as bad!

@ scooby4953, trust me that paint on uzi is nothing special to BC2 its on both games. anyway i think the XM8 is the best gun to showcase the differances check these pics out...
