Okay, I never post on forums but thought this may help some of you.
I own the retail copy of Bf3 on PS3 and although i could play online I couldn't register at battlelog. I have had EA games in the past and never had problems. I had success yesterday and along the way there were quite a few issues.
Phone EA on 08702432435. Tell them you want to check your PS3 ID is linked to your EA account properly and your EA PSN persona is present and correct. They will let you know about any other ID's you have linked to the account. Make sure the PS3 email for signing in is the same as your EA email log in and for safe measure your EA master ID matches your PSN screen name. I was unable to change these things myself so it was all sorted by them. I could not log in on http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/gate/ for the life of me.......got the puchase BF3/same/origional screen refreshing over and over.
My PS3 updated a little while back and somehow the sign in password was messed. I found that when I signed out of the PS3 and tried to sign back in that my password was wrong. I am 100% sure this was not my fault so check your PS3 password. I found that when trying to log into https://www.ea.com/uk/profile/login?returnurl=http://store.origin.com/store/eaemea/en_GB/home/ThemeI... something was wrong and I couldn't get in that way either due to my PS3 being messed up so worth checking that out just in case.
I changed my masterEA id myself a while back and in doing so when it was saved my email address was messed up too. This was not my fault and only when I phoned EA did I manage to sort it out, get it changed and remove other EA id's that had no relevance to my Ps3 or pc. Bloke on the phone had it sorted in about ten minutes and said everything should work. I left it for about an hour, played a couple of rounds of BF3 then tried to log back into Battlelog site and hey F@&%$ing presto! Easy eh!!
