Banning of weapons.

So aparently its against the terms to ban weapons/equipment when hosting private servers, if this is the case then why is it that about 60% of servers I join are "No shotgun" etc?

Does dice actualy monitor this stuff or what? It should also show who the admin or host of the server is so he can be held responsible and reported etc, I'm actualy sick of being kicked from games for using certain weapon types, I bought the damn game I'll use whatever I want, you may rent the server from DICE its THEIR rules, not yours -_-.

I've seen no javelin and no sniper/claymore rooms aswell, it's all a bit out of hand lol, banning anything that kills you. IN A WAR GAME!

rant mode :Shame:

Re: Banning of weapons.

I did find a link over on the EA Battlefield forums that you could use to report those doing this. Only problem was when I clicked on it, it came up that the page did not exist.

The only time they can make it certain weapons or equipment is if the server is unranked.

Re: Banning of weapons.

i think you should be allowed to decide what weapons are allowed, but use a checkbox option during setup, ive been killed far too much recently by foxtrot alpha golf sierras using the MASS glitch, and i know they are sat there tittering themselves something silly because they are getting away with it.

lets be fair though some of the rules are barking. ive seen some that demand no explosives what so ever!

Re: Banning of weapons.

Killzone 2 handled this issue quite well if memory serves.  You denied certain weapons or classes completely at setup,  and the issue of kicking players never arose.  I've also seen hundreds of weapon specific rules but i've never heard of anyone losing a server over it.

I did have an Email from EA stating a 'warning' had been put on my account for an offensive banner,  but when I clicked the link for details it didn't work.  I think it was the bikini girl banner I had as a joke ages ago,  fully clothed and nothing you wouldn't see at the beach,  but some people have no sense of humour.

It factored in my decision to donate the server to the community,  and never host another.  I won't use a server banner again either.   If people don't like you,  they can find offence in anything.

Re: Banning of weapons.

another thing about kz2 ,that they should off implemented to bf3 was side 2 side voice chat so when said duchbag swaps you sides because you have wrong camo on ,you can voice your dismay ,at said duchbag/***** ,in calm and forthright manner. Or remember his tag if your ever on his side again place c4 on him or buy u get the idea.

Re: Banning of weapons.

i think there is no point in putting those rules in the information unless your actually going to enforce it, when i was admin for a server once the US carrier was getting baseraped, i warned the guys doing it by PM and it actually did stop.

but coming up with over the top rules is pointless if your not there to enforce them. i do think you should list who all your admins are though as ive been booted from servers before by persons unknown for equally unknown reasons. probably being too good.....

Re: Banning of weapons.

The only thing that should be banned is admin powers.

I mean the whole point of ranked games is you use the official rules and all equipment the game provides to compete against people on a global leaderboard.

If you think being a shotgun, claymore, chopper ***** etc. is nooby then that's an issue of bad design and should be taken to the developers rather than ruining other players time who are just playing the game as intended.

If it really is against the Terms then custom rules should just be left to unranked matches.
