Battlefield 3 Co-op Hints 'n' Tips (Part 1)
Just as a small disclaimer, these tips aren't designed to be complete, step by step guides, nor are they by any means the only methods of doing things, merely hints for anyone having trouble with the missions. If you have any advice that might be useful or spot any mistakes, just shout and I'll try and have it edited!
General Advice
Take your time and don't charge in. Might sound obvious, but on Hard mode bullets actually hurt. They're almost like real bullets. Once enemies have shot you once they seem to obtain some kind of lock-on that means if you don't get behind cover then they will shoot you up. So let the raspberry jam clear from your screen then pop out of cover again.
Equally, without wanting to sound like the guy who thinks up the advice for the loading screens, aim for the head. Enemies in hard mode will drop a lot more quickly and won't stand up again, and in stealth sections a headshot will make things run a lot more smoothly. I'd be surprised if you didn't get more points too.
While incapacitated, you can only crawl backwards and will bleed out fairly quickly in hard mode - the pistol you have, however, is very accurate so you can easily take out your assailant and cover your team-mate. Try and crawl into some kind of cover so you can be revived.
Spot enemies with select, just as you would in multiplayer - you'll get points for it and it'll allow your partner to help you out should you have to reload.
Finally, always, always know where your team mate is, and try not to stray too far from him/her. Obviously, don't make yourselves RPG fodder, but be able to get to him/her if they go down, don't block doorways/narrow alleys and try to prevent enemies flanking you and picking you off from behind.
Operation Exodus

As soon as the level loads, leg it round the corner to the left, towards the footbridge.
Have one person climb onto the bridge and draw the fire while the other sets up: you'll want at least 2 mines on the left lane looking towards the enemy spawn, and then place as many claymores as you can be bothered to carry in the market area which surrounds the ammo crate, specifically near the entrance to the alley and facing away from the wall near the parked vans. You can also place mines in the area next to the alley entrance.
Now start to pick off the enemies who will advance down both lanes of the road using cars as cover. If you're set up around the bridge they tend not to be too aggressive which means you can pick them off from cover with relative ease. Be patient and try not to stray too far from your team mate in case he goes down. When the first BMP appears, use your javelins to destroy it - it should take 3 shots, after which it's worth resupplying.
At this point you'll be told enemies are coming from the west, i.e. the area covered by claymores. Take up position by the ammo crates and spam hand grenades into the alley entrance and by the trucks - you won't ever run out. Be careful of a couple of soldiers and an RPG sitting on the balcony straight above you. When the BMP appears from the west, either let your mines do the trick, or run behind the yellow bus to the east and spam it with javelin.
With the BMP down, more infantry will come from the main road, beyond the footbridge, accompanied by another armoured vehicle, this one more aggressive than the previous ones. Your main road mines should do the trick, but if not get ready to take it out because you will fail if it breaches the defensive line.
Lastly, you need to move under the arches to the east. Resupply first, then head towards the white van on the left of the street - blow it up with the underbarrel launcher, and then use it as cover for the duration of the last wave. There is a balcony area further back on the other side of the street, but it leaves you a little exposed to RPGs - if you need ammo, though, you'll find a box in the garage left of the balcony's ladder. Watch out for an enemy with an RPG who, from the van position, will be obscured by a telegraph pole.
After dealing with these enemies and more armour - use javelins from range - you'll be told the birds are ready to lift off - head back towards where you started, taking care to avoid the mortars, and a chopper'll land. Hop in, and you'll sail into the sunset.
Associated trophy: Car Lover - complete without losing a humvee. On easy mode, providing you mine the street and market area adequately and cover yourself with javelin fire on all the enemy armour, the humvees should survive. You can even mine the street on the east to be sure - effectively, make destroying the BMPs a priority.
Fire From the Sky

That's right, it's a helicopter mission! As far as I can tell, pilot/gunner are allocated randomly, so if your helicopter tends to find itself embedded in cliffs or you couldn't spot a pigeon in London, then restart until you get it how you want it.
If you're pilot, try to position yourself facing the targets so your gunner has a decent angle and use your fire extinguisher (R1) if things get smoky. Keep relatively still if things are quiet, and avoid fire if AA vehicles arrive. I managed the mission on hard with almost no pilot missiles fired - if your gunner is half competent, leave him/her to it.
If you're the gunner, stick to the machine gun until prompted otherwise - the missiles are laser guided so need a target that can be recognised. Aside from the targets pointed out to you, watch out for troops in the fields at the start, on the other side of the bridge, near the complex and in the field where the extraction is due to take place.
The 30mm cannon will destroy armoured vehicles, but always try and fire off a missile first as it only takes one shot; then switch to the cannon as the missile's reload is pretty lengthy.
Happily, as long as you don't crash, it's not too difficult a mission - the marines tend to stay alive and your helicopter can take a little punishment before you'll explode. Mind not to shoot the helicopters that extract the marines - I'm not sure if they can be destroyed but there are no enemy aircraft so there's no need to shoot.
Associated trophy: Untouchable - complete without using the fire extinguisher. This is the responsibility of the pilot alone - as long as you refrain from pressing R1 and survive then you'll obtain this one no problem. On easy mode you shouldn't need the fire extinguisher, but dodge enemy vehicles' fire all the same.
Exfiltration

Depending on whether you're going for the associated trophy or not, this can be done one of two ways. If you're not, it's much simpler as you can run and gun the whole first section up until securing El Zakir - none of the enemies are particularly difficult, although watch out for the one armed with a shotgun who'll rush you after you open the 4th door (including the entrance to the garage).
With El Zakir in tow, cover the humvees through the first set of streets, sticking to the colonnades on the right of the street which provide good cover. When the humvees turn the corner, a white plastic chair will often stick to the front of the first car. Have a chuckle.
When you get to the square, use the skip and metal wall on the left of the humvees as cover to take out the enemies - a fair few will cover behind the metal wall on your left, so watch for any trying to flank you. The rest are scattered around balconies and buildings, but your IRNV scope makes spotting them very easy.
When you get to the gate that needs to be destroyed using C4, let one person go and the other cover both sides of the intersection where enemies will spawn. You can get away with legging it into the humvees, but if you're pinned down then take 'em out - careful, however, as, looking in the direction that the humvees are facing, a guy with an RPG will spawn midway up the building on the right hand side past the crossroads.
After a nice scripted IED, you'll charge off towards another courtyard - you can shoot the ambushers but they'll rarely do any damage to you. Once you've bailed from the humvees, follow El Zakir into the small room and pick all the enemies in the square off from here, with your teammate huddled in the corner ready to revive you.
After you've killed the enemies on the left of the square, in the windows of the building opposite and on the right of the square, a helicopter will take out some guys on the roof and then land. Make sure it's clear and then leg it to the chopper to finish the mission.
Associated trophy: Ninjas - reach El Zakir without setting off the alarm. The stealthy approach isn't too difficult here. If you have voice comms, co-ordinate your shots, else have one person's shot act as a cue for the second. It's straightforward until the stairwell: there are two guards after the first internal door, two after you go down the small flight of stairs, one facing the other way before the stairwell and various cctv cameras that have the range of a hairdryer. Coming up to the first floor, however, one person needs to take the guard and the other the camera. Coming up to the second floor one person needs to take the camera, and the other the two guards, spamming pistol fire a little if necessary. Lastly, there are two guards outside El Zakir's room - either line up a perfect double headshot or co-ordinate taking one guard each.
You're now halfway through the co-op missions! Fist pump, have a biscuit and prepare for office gunfights, covert night time sniping and causing irreparable damage to Parisian streets (oh, and a QTE!).
Battlefield 3 Co-op Hints 'n' Tips (Part 2)
General Advice (Part II)
In order to unlock the multiplayer weapons more easily, it
is possible to grind XP on the last mission after you emerge
from the subway. Instead of entering the stock exchange, hang
back by the green fence and shoot the enemies inside. They will
spawn indefinitely, allowing you to rack up points. It's worth
taking two assault rifles before you head out of the station,
although there is an ammo crate back in the métro if you run
out that can still be accessed.
Hit and Run

A lot more straightforward than any of the other missions - there are no helicopters to crash, no lines to defend and no dodgy AI to protect. Just an empty office building and a lot of shooting.
You'll be told to cover choke points with claymores, but the enemies come in so quickly that it's almost not worth it, especially as you'll want to start by killing the enemies who come in through the windows of the starting room. Then clear out the larger adjacent room and wait for the enemies to rush you from the corridor.
It's worth sticking to the left of the central display cabinets to avoid the fire from outside while traversing the next room - but you don't need to kill the enemies in the building opposite - grab a UMP .45, stock up on ammo, and head towards the stairs. The next room is packed full of enemies but most can be taken from around the 3 sets of stairs so be patient and pick 'em off from a distance, returning to the ammo crate when you're done. The room almost straight ahead when you come down the stairs is also a decent place to stay, just make sure to cover both doors.
if the top of the stairs is clear, leg it all the way to the blue marker, there are no bad guys here (yet). I've found you can very easily hold out behind the desks near the ammo crate when you get ambushed, just spam grenades and hipfire. With everyone dead, mind the shotgun wielding madman behind the previously stuck door and take up positions by the stairs. After breaching, have whoever's downstairs rejoin the guy on the balcony, and have him cover the stairs where you just were - enemies will try to flank you here.
With this room clear, you'll just need to negotiate the last set of offices and the long corridor - if you're quick on the draw at the latter you can kill off a large number of enemies before they can get to cover. After the stairs leading to the garage, you'll encounter 4 guys in a room at the bottom of the stairs - let 'em come to you and gun 'em down when they hit the doorway.
Enjoy some lovely, empty corridors that'll take you to the garage and watch out for the two guards defending the SUV that'll hopefully take you to safety. It handles like a barge on a custard canal, but it's hard to die here even if you crash. Smash the fence near to where it's parked, drive up a couple of ramps and through some hapless guards and mission #4 will come to an end.
Associated trophy: Push On - reach the garage without going man-down. There's nothing specific you need to do for this one - play on easy mode, hang back until each room is clear, and restart if either you or your partner goes down. When you get to the garage you'll get the trophy.
Drop 'Em Like Liquid

To quote Harry Tipper, "Aw, man! Hostages! I hate hostages! They take all the fun outta the job; always whinin' about needin' to be rescued!". What makes it tougher is having to co-ordinate your shots, and without voice comms in a public lobby that's not gonna happen, so try and find someone who'll at least join a text chat or read your messages!
You'll quickly find yourself in a sewer tunnel - shortly after you reach the marker, you'll be able to see a lone guard who'll walk right to left, then back again, stopping to talk on a walkie-talkie. if you're going for the trophy, drop him with a quick headshot and climb the ladder out of the sewers to face two guards in a courtyard. Kill them and then the two under the arch, and then the two at the entrance to the apartment - nothing too difficult here. If you're not bothered about stealth, charge through and gun everyone down.
The rest of the mission pans out pretty much as described in the associated trophy guide, but be aware that there will be enemies on your side of the river when you leave the apartment if you go in hot. Moreover, make sure to focus on the HVT when he starts to run, you can pretty much ignore the guards.
Associated Trophy: Bullseye - Save the hostages without alerting any guards. This is probably the hardest of the co-op trophies, because you'll need to communicate to work out who's killing who, and the hit detection can really suck. Careful of the guard in the sewer, and time your shots with the pairs of guards in the run up to the building, but this bit isn't too bad. The two guards in the apartment do not count. While sniping from the windows, put the bipod on the window for steady aim.
With the first set of guards on the quay, wait until they stop at the lamp post or it'll be much tougher, and aim for the head. The same goes for the next two: wait until they stop next to the van then take 'em out. For the buses, each player needs to focus on one bus; wait until the squad are in position and then give them the go - there are two enemies each.
Move downstairs and,
from the river bank, first take the two enemies across the
river by the fence - after they stop moving - and then the two
under the trees. They're both marked. Another three are under
the blue signed shop - one person can line up the two on the
right drop 'em with a couple of
bullets.
Now for the tough bit. Move up and three markers will appear after the sniper is spotted. You'll want to have one person take the enemy on the right of the group and the other take the one on the left, firing a shot into the central enemy in between. Provided that you keep them in a state of shock from being shot, they can't alert the others. You will have to spam bullets a little, and the enemies are located on the large steps, under the green veranda and in the centre. When the sniper appears, either judge the bullet drop or spam bullets into his torso - the former is probably easier if you're co-ordinating shots.
At the vantage point, resupply if necessary and then deploy your bipod. With Alpha in position, take out the two guards by the wall. Next, let the two moving guards stop in front of the steps and drop them too. Three guards will emerge from the embassy and stop by the railings - the two on the right can be taken out with the same few shots. Kill the guards in the windows - spam if necessary, as long as they both go down quickly it's fine. Wait for the squad to get in position in the room adjacent to the hostages, and have one person focus on the moving guard. Kill him first then the others. When the hostages are secure you'll receive the trophy, regardless of the status of the HVT.
The Eleventh Hour

Dreamed of shooting up Parisian buildings but afraid of the prospect of French prisons? It's time for the Eleventh Hour then. The first lot of enemies you'll encounter are in the long tunnel that leads to the platforms - use the sets of pillars as cover from which to take out the guards, who are inside and either side of the ticket desk.
On the first platform, the terrorists are pretty hapless and many are armed with shotguns so keep your distance and they won't pose any problems - using the train to flank them often works, just make sure you're in a position to be revived. Rather than going up and down the escalator, head round to the left of the platform towards the bomb, and follow the Associated Trophy advice.
With the bomb defused, head up the escalator, where there may still be enemies. Clear out the station tunnel, moving from pillar to pillar, before heading out above ground. At the Stock Exchange, enemies will respawn indefinitely (see general advice) until you start to climb the steps, so, using them as cover, pick enemies off from a distance.
When the lobby is clear (mind the two enemies who emerge from the door on the left), head through the corridors until you reach the main trading floor. Inside, stick to the cover near the entrance until all visible enemies have been taken out - don't try and use the desks as cover as reviving is impossible - then leg it to the opposite side where similar cover is offered by the doors.
After stacking up by these same doors, you'll breach to find several enemies in the next lobby - your current position offers easily enough cover, but watch out for the enemies above to the left in the windows. The next marker can sometimes take a while to appear, but you'll need to stack up on the door at the far end of the room on the right. Upon breaching, you'll be launched into a QTE in which one player needs to knock the gun out of the HVT's hand and the other will need to shoot him. It's pretty easy as far as endings go - only one button needs to be pressed by each player and it's a clear shot.
Associated
Trophy: Disarm the bomb in under 20
seconds. When you get to the bomb, located in the far train
carriage on the 2nd part of the platform, press circle to
interact with it, then follow the prompts on screen. Even if
the excitement of a Quick Time Event proves too much, you're
given plenty of time per button press so take your time. If one
person draws the fire of the terrorists and the other person
immediately legs it then you'll get this one no
problem.
And that's it! You should now be the proud owner of a
silver and/or gold trophy as well as some fancy new weapons for
multiplayer! If you have any co-op advice, just post it below
and I'll try and get it edited in!

I'm still looking to unlock the M39 so add me if you want a few games tonight! Not too sure about the KH2002 yet, it flails around a bit and doesn't seem to have a lot of range.

I didn't seem to earn more points for normal or hard mode, it seems to only matter how many kills you get that makes a difference.
I found this very strange, given how much longer it takes to complete you'd think the reward'd be higher. I wouldn't mind a few more co-op missions, but hopefully more along the lines of Operation Exodus, i.e. defending a line.
