Ticky I thought you would have learnt something whilst shotgun with me, think back to that match on Caspian We were almost immortal and the thing that killed us was the mast collapsing on top of us

ECM saved our hides many a time that game and tbh since then the majority of my deaths can be attributed to either 

1. Human error ie me saying "lets try something new" or "can I fly under that bridge *ratty thinks no, but is too polite to say no : ( I killed him *
2. Hovering over flags
3. Having deployed ECM something else locking immediately after it wares of then either a random not flaring despite the fact its obvious to even Marco Polo that I have been using ECM  so the gunner needs to flare (obliviously not paying attention to cockpit sounds) or ratty not flaring then saying he has despite I know he has not then I verbally abuse him (if I was within reach it would be physical abuse)

Below radar is permanently equipped once have unlocked it just like the CITV station in MBT's

well i tried ecm last night in a chopper and got shot down more than usual, so nuts to that. it didnt seem to reload as quick as i thought and people seemed to be able to lock on to me again only a few seconds after it was activated. i might give it one more go.

Think its down to personal preference between flares and ECM. Flares are simple to use but are limited to use. ECM is more complex but is more versatile.

IMO prevention is better than a cure, or so the saying goes

well i tried it again and it was pretty rage inducing, deployed it before lock, still got locked onto, sod it. ill go for flares and zoom to low altitude.

ECM is only really any good if you have a good gunner with flares, but hen its only really any good against air threat.

So many times you have SOFLAM, stingers and CiTV to content with too

ECM sucks the ballz, flares are not much better and BOTH are unreliable as hell after the patch.

If jets want your heli dead bad enough they will just ram you regardless of what setup your running.
