Why do the choppers blow up for no reason sometimes? It's really beginning to annoy me. 5 times it's happened in the last 2 days. Just chugging along, minding my own business, then BOOM. Bad Luck. It's bad enough that a third of the time you drop flares or ECM you get hit anyway with out spontaneous explosions.
Another thing that gets on my goat is people who spawn in the chopper just after you, upon realising they're not the pilot, jump straight out all hissy like. Chopper needs a gunner. No point me trying to bring the thunder without the hail stones.
And while I'm griping; they should fix those temperamental bi-pods, dammit!

I was flying as a gunner yesterday using the TV-missle to destroy some tanks and somehow managed to accidently explode my own helicopter, teamkilling the pilot. Maybe something similar happened to you?
I get so much bad luck in this game i wonder what i could possibly have done to karma to make it hate me so much ![]()

Pessimist
We got shot down by a tank whilst flying backwards very low down. Was trying to shoot down a the enemy chopper whilst staying below radar. It was working to up until the tank shell hit us ![]()
Edit: anybody think the helicopters now feel heavier in the way they handle. D' you know what I mean?

I hate the russian choppers, they both just can't wait to roll over & die its like they deliberately sabotaged them top heavy or something. I tried that Mr I, flying forwards and backwards below radar with limited success, I still got locked on to by a stinger sometimes in my tests, and most of the time I crashed.
The height advantage seems to be worth more than 'below radar' in a chopper fight. The guy above me won almost every time no matter what I did. I'm no pro though, i'm sure killzone and others can make that thing dance around the sky, but personally I only like the Huey. If its not available - I'd rather take a tank or jeep to the flag.
The russian choppers have you sitting higher, and they have big asses too. So sometimes when I think I can make a low attack run, forgetting im in a ruski death trap, the chopper bottoms out, as does my health.
Thw ZW-11 tail is stupidly large, the Littlebird is nible enough to fly into the large warehouse buildings if you so desire, but the ZW-11 tail like to clip on things. Seriously, you fly near a pole or under a bridge and the tail gravitates towards it like a fatman to pie.

Helicopters feel the same to me. :/
Havoc little better
Sort of like the heavy feeling means am not doing stupid mistakes apart from crashing
Here a tip.....closer you are to a another heli fire your flares eariler
Also don't fear using the rocket pods on air craft close to you
