Have Dice given up on Battlefield 3?

There's not an official server to be seen. I've spent 20 minutes in server browser looking for an official server and EVERY -[DICE]- server is a fake.

Quick match throws you into "Canals 24/7 8billion tickets" each and every time.

Why does quick match not restrict game joining to real official matches. . .I mean what buffoon is in charge at Dice? :smileysad:

DICE have no room for their own game servers anymore due to need to store all that e-£££ they are creaming in from the paid for servers

Best thing to do is once you have found a -[DICE]- Official server, favourite it. That's what I did but one of them aren't on my list anymore. I guess they just don't need their servers as there are loads of people renting their own and they are making money in the process.

Re: Have Dice given up on Battlefield 3?

Yes they may be renting their own but surely DICE need to recognise that when I want to find a quick match - I want a real original server with the set amount of tickets and all that :smileysad: This is so annoying.

Re: Have Dice given up on Battlefield 3?

If thats true and official servers are disappearing its about as close as it can get to a subscription based service without taking the final step and just asking everyone for a monthly fee.  Hope they're not phasing out official servers and are just renaming them or something.

The rental price is highly inflated and should generate sufficient revenue to subsidise official servers.  Server space isn't actually expensive and certainly isn't in short supply.

Urgh, and all the stupid rules people put in place, like no shotguns or no claymores.

I miss the old way. Conquest is fun, but not with 400 tickets. Takes way too long! And I can never seem to find Rush games on the Karkand maps either

Re: Have Dice given up on Battlefield 3?

Welcome to the money train. Why have your own servers running when you can get people to pay for them.

I've pretty much given up on this game now, even MW3 with all it's problems is better than this. I just play on a Sunday night with OAP's now. Can't be bothered going into a game of 24/7 Metro with 1000 tickets.

Hope not, I am getting the game again. Oh yes, I will be a noob with good equipment. 126 hours I put in and I am sure I will have to relearn everything :smileysurprised:

Re: Have Dice given up on Battlefield 3?

Making quickmatch finding official servers only is exactly how it should be :smileysad::smileysad::smileysad: You shouldn't have to search through servers for 20 minutes to find an all standard , all maps game!
