+1 though for being able to stick a cameo on any gun, but at the same time, I don't use any cameos anyway, but I see were you coming from

Well I finished the L96 specialist assignment tonight and I noticed it unlocked the final assignment 'Only for the dedicated' which unlocks the Russian Spetsnaz uniform.  So its not necessary to complete all four weapon assignments if you just want the soldier camouflage.  Any one will do. 

If like me though you're doing them all,  i'd say the quickest way is to complete one assignment fully first to open up 'Only for the dedicated',  because the kills you need for the other three weapon specific assignments are counted into the final job as you're doing them.

Any new assignments are good, but I thought they only came with DLC? What have I missed?

Theres seperate soldier upgrade assisgnments every couple of months. Also we should be getting a bonus content drop next month, no idea what thats gonna include though.

Anyone else finished yet?  What do you think of the new camo? 

I'm not really impressed,  I was hoping after all that effort it would be very distinctive but it looks a lot like some other camo i've seen.  I haven't been killed by anyone wearing it yet though - maybe it looks cool on the killcam
