Jumped into an apache twice last night, failed miserably and then fled the scene due to embarrassment. Played with the controls trying to find a BFBC 1 equivalent but can't seem to find one that suits. As this is only a demo and stats aren't going to be saved (unless anyone knows any different) I'm going to continue to attempt to fly so I'm prepared come release day.

im using left and default for the heli controls, close to bfbc i can get, the thumb sticks on bfbc2 just suck in my opinion , much better in the first.. but try lefty..

The key is to fly straight up really high at first, then slightly push forward and get a feel for the controls, its actually pretty easy when you get the hang of it. Use 3rd person view sometimes to get a better sense of where you are so you dont crash into things lol.

Can you not just jump out and deploy your parachute? I know in BF2 you could deploy your parachute whenever you wanted to, even when jumping off tall building. Is that not still possible?

Yep. you can jump out and deploy parachute. Very effective for 'death from above'. I like to chute down and drop C4 on tanks.

I find the helis very easy to fly this time around. They weren't too bad in BFBC1 but this time they are superb. I wish I could remember the name of the guy I flew with on sat night. He beat me to the pilots seat so I sat back as gunner while he flew the thing like Airwolf. Simply fantastic. Loads and loads of kills and points for both of us.
