I came home leaving hostel for 3 days to play exclusively battlefield 3. That is the only thing on my mind. found that there is a patch. So at night i started download. Slept and woke up after 2 hours. what did i find? The download is just 6%. I previously downloaded game demo of 2 gb in 2 something hours i remember. Slept for 3 more hours and it is 14% . F***. Wasted whole night. Searched on google if i could download patch on pc and then install on ps3. There was a "PS3 PROXY GUI" method. did it all...downloaded on pc at 60kbps wasted another night. last day for game. But when i downloaded on ps3 through pc proxy what did i get? ERROR 80029564. *****. Googled it and found a safe mode solution. Hell no nuts for me still then. Wasted 3 days. I have come home again on GOOD FRIDAY OCCASION. I don't know what to do. If i download on ps3 again it would take at least 20 hours i guess. My Broadband unlimited limit is between 2am to 8 am morning. I am fu::::d . THE BOTTOM LINE IS WHY THE DOWNLOAD IS SLOW AND WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE 80029564 ERROR. PLZ DICE OR PSN(IT DOESN"T MATTER WHO) SOLVE THIS ISSUE.

download worked ok for me personally.  Is you ISP throttling you in some way? Is it wired or wireless?

i've never personally heard of being able to download a patch on the pc and then install on the ps3 - i may be wrong though.

Try and ask mr jeeves what the error message means, may be a corrupt download or something like that.

i know it can be frustrating but keep trying. sometimes the store or game servers can be really busy. i hope you get to play bf3 before you return to the hostel.

Generally its not really advisable to download patches via PC/proxy servers. The error you're getting is case in point as your PS3 is unable to install due to a possible file corruption.

Delete the game data from the utility folder and redownload the patch via your PS3 only. Before you do so I would recommend checking your internet connection then do a speedtest to make sure you're receiving the broadband speeds you're supposed to.

I suppose could also try accessing safe mode and selecting Restore File System (Option 3) which would attempt to repair any corrupt files on your PS3.

Downloading on ps3 is taking too much time as i said it could have taken 20 hours and electricity fluctutes sometimes. So lastly i had to go for proxy download.

@Mr_Inconspicous Yeah its India. How do u know me. i feel like i've met u ealier. Anyway i downloaded the patch again on PC through proxy and it worked. i guess the instant power cut currupted the patch previously.

Never took arrow to the knee coz ps3 sucks with that in it.
