Now the novelty has worn off... People want to play normal servers agian!
I'm not saying what they did wasn't wrong but it's there- no demand so they pulled them to rent them!!

Hopefully they put some servers back up . With all the money being made from rented servers & the now pointless Online Pass. I can't see why they couldn't have both.
Otherwise I'd expect a refund on the season pass at least. But then again, we all paid to play online, & we still have the ability to play online. Wonder how long it'll take before some American takes them to court.

I would have to doubt that, Often people seem to still be looking for DICE servers, and everyone is labeling their own servers with the DICE name to gain traffic.
There was always going to be a lot of user servers just after implementation, and it may have been necessary to turn off dice servers to allow this... But if they stay off, and this becomes Paid service by the back door, then that is troubling.

Joystiq Have no reported on the issue. Won't be long until IGN & Eurogamer jump on bored I up.

Just saw this on the battlelog forums.
From EA/DICE:
We are not shutting down servers. If DICE-managed servers appear unavailable, it is because they have been rented and customized by players. We are continuing to add servers & will reserve a percentage of servers for players who prefer DICE-hosted servers. Thanks for your patience!

I don't mind the rented servers at all really, I quite like 200%-300% Tickets, nice balance between time and killing lol. I played an official server the other day and as someone pointed out, when you play the longer games, the official servers seem very short lol. Obviously there has been the occasional muppet admin who just kicks you because your too good or because you crashed into him but I rarely find them. So at the moment, it's all good for me.
