What's the craic with the SAS, do you not wanna join? You can't end on a cliffhanger of a post such as that haha.
Wasn't Randy McNab in the SAS haha.
Not a lot a I can say about the SAS. All I know is they were there on selection and on Thursday night some twits in our platoon ***** off some of the potential SAS
. They had just started I think as the Corporal who was telling us said watch that carpark empty over the week, and he was right
Think its 8 months the selection. There was around 150 there of out of those about 4 will pass maybe less
Me in the SAS
Are you mental
Lets get out of basic training, phase 2 training and a couple of years with my regiment before we start having those crazy ideas
To tell you the truth I doubt I could hack it.
Got a tough week coming up. Two tabs, first is a 5 mile and then a 6 mile (4 mile squadded, 2 best effort) which is the last and is a test. Last circuit training and lots of shooting to get ready for the marksmanship test.
Well you've already had th intense mental preperation of being on this forum
Most people on here are mental ![]()

Got promoted on Friday
Went from a recruit to a private soldier in her Britanic Majisteys Army
Also in a couple of weeks my pay goes from £14,400 to £18,000 with a gaurenteed pay rise evey 6 months so "happy days"
I'm now a fully trained soldier, Limped through the end of the training. Did a week and half with tendonitis
They got messed up on the assault course when we were doing CASEVACs and log runs. Did a mile and half run in 10 minutes with f****d up tendons then a 5 day exercise. Could barley move by the end of it but managed the final attack. Was put in the fire support group so was basically supressing the enemy posityion with rapid fire.
On Monday I had no idea if I'd be able to march with my platoon for the parade. Tuesday was diagosed with tendonitis by the Dr and was put on light duties with the only thing I was allowed to do was drill. In the reherasals we had nailed every move including the feared "advance in review order" which our platoon always did perfectly
Basically advancing 14 pacess forward in open order and we all stayed perfectlu covered off with each other
(Stu knows what I mean).
Then in rehersals with the other 2 platoons on the same drill move the other 2 platoons with us were far to fast and when we looked across there ranks were all ove the show wehilst ours were in 3 perfectly straight lines
yet the Company Sergeant Major shouts at us. We kept repeating it and always our platoon kept covered correctly yet the other platoons couldn't do it. Our Sergeant defended us as we were actually marching at the correct pace of 120 paces per minute so the the company was forced to march to our correct pace ![]()
Thursday we got beasted in they gym (I sat we I was actually not allowed to do lower body PT due to my hip) then because everybody got thrashed by the PTIs when it came to the rehersal of the parade 2 of our platoon fainted. The first did it properly. Face planted staight into the floor and broke his nose. Next didnt do it properly, he tried to fight it and fell backwards as the fist person was still being brought round ![]()
Friday was the final rehersal whcih was with the band which turned out to be the band and bugels of the Rifles. One of the best bands in the Army. Was awesome marching around the camp with a band let alone the Rifles band and bugels.
Finally the time came for the pass off parade. We were all formed up ready to go just waiting for the crowd warm up to finish and Company Sergeant Majoy give the order for us to march then suddently the band kicked in to life and marched off, Knobdoy knew why event he CSM had been expecting that but he band went on a double quick time. We finalluy got on the parade square, cant discribe the buzz that gives you marching on the pass off parade infornt off your family to a band especially the rifles band.
Will post pictures and video as soon as I can, in mean time I cant wait for a game or to on BF3
