Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

I'd be as well playing this

Nice guide but they should really give some sort of tutorial, it's next to impossible to get the time to learn.

lmao @ oldest ancient, id give u kudos if i could.. that post had me in stitches..

i agree an ingame tutorial on flying/driving would be a great help,or the ability to set up a private match so u can get to grips with flight/vehicle controls.

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

Good guide, I took a crash course in how to fly a jet yesterday when I was spawned in one. I ended up just flying it into the ground because I couldn't hit anything with the machine guns:smileyvery-happy:

Flying jets  on BF3 is very easy IMO. I enjoy a good battle of evading fire and then banking round tight to get behind them, fun.

if your being followed by an enemy plane

pull up as if into a loop but when you are upside down and facing the oposite direction simply roll level and afterburner off, alot quicker than sharp turn at low speed

When I was playing IL2 a lot I used to love when my victim did that... it presents the largest area for cannon fire as well as the most visible target against the sky.

this wouyld probably be a better idea standard split S going underneath

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

Great thread MB. I would also like to say how important Spotting up is( Press Select) It only takes one good soldier or enemy vehicle to cause a problem and spotting them up(Press Select) basically puts a big target over their heads saying Kill Me, Kill Me now.

Yeah. If your opponent attempts to draw a line of fire as you pull around, they will either be on a crash course with the ground or have to break engagement to avoid the ground. But of course this move requires you to have enough altitude in the first place, which then puts you at the mercy of ground AA :smileysurprised:

Ground AA has put a hole in me several times over the past few days. Personally I think that it gets you not because you're flying low, it's because you're not flying low enough.

The ground AA literally cannot keep up with you as you move across the screen if you're pelting it on a strafing run about 5 inches from the floor. Takes some learning to get that right.

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

Cheers for this, MB. I'm eager to get my pilot wings and this should give me a push in the right direction. I spent about 20 minutes in one game attempting not to crash my A-10 into the ground, I was doing well until some profilegate came and destroyed me... Despite that, I still don't think I've got to grips with controls. Do you know of anyway to make the controls more Warhawk-y?

Also, what the hell happened to helicopters?! On BC2 I'd consider myself to be a decent pilot, I still managed to crash a chopper within 20 seconds of take off in BF3.
