Turn and Burn:

There's a trick to making swift, smooth and effective turns in a jet:

1. Roll first:
Before making a turn, roll into the direction you wish to turn in. So, if I'm about to turn left, I dip my left wing so that it is pointing directly towards the ground.

2. Pull through:

Once you've rolled, decrease your throttle and pitch DOWN* UP to "pull" your aircraft through the turn.  *Pitching down whilst rolling port (left) will turn the jet starboard(right). Honeslty :Stupid:

3. Apply Yaw:

If you want an even sharper turn, apply Yaw in the direction you are turning. BE WARNED: You may have to make small adjustments to the pitch and roll as you apply Yaw, since it will eventually pull you towards the ground.

4. Burn:

Straighten up before applying thrust. Getting too eager on the afterburners will put you way off target. Keep calm and set her straight first.

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

They shouldn't let me in jets or helicopters - it starts off ok, but after my first strafing run I tend to end up in the sea/mountains/dumpsters :smileyvery-happy:

Managed the choppers fine in BC2 but can't get to grips with them at all in BF3.

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

Id add to MBs list by saying get communicating with other pilots.

Theres nothing better than one pilot baiting enemies by flying predictably and slowly, and when the enemy moves in for the kill... the wingman drops an IR missile into is ass :smileyvery-happy:

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

God its hard killing anythin in a jet. I can fly it just fine. But finding anything on the ground to shoot is impossible. Anytips on how to locate ground units and take them down?

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

i changed the jet stick layout to that legacy southpaw, and its excellent reminds me of the ace combat controlls, now if i can just get a few kills i'll be elected,

and the choppers are a proper *****, i just usualy avoid them!

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

I hate the jets in this game so much, reason being as if their there I'll jump into one, I get off the ground and before anyone fires a shot at me Boom , I'm in the ground nose first screaming at myself for constantly jumping into the dam things when I know the result is going to be far from impressive :xCry:

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

And why the hell do they switch the firing to L1 for the vehicles. I constantly press R1 then curse at myself for doing it yet again

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

I do the same. It puts up a smokescreen for me, which means i lose my target and they end up blowing me up.

It is much better, though I am left handed(biased) and change the controls around so fire is L1 lol.

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

an easy way to destroy an enemy jet by only using the (machine) gun, is to follow him from behind and as soon as he makes a turn you follow him But you turn faster so that you're aiming infront of him (in the turn, or climb/loop) now fire a burst of fury wich will then most likely hit him and disable him. it'll most likely hit him as the surface area of the enemy plane becomes waay bigger
