I'm just about done with jets. I can't see anything on the ground no matter what view I'm in (maybe the OP has a HD TV?). NO ONE is spotting still. Not that it matters because I'm only a few seconds in the air and someone is on me with heat-seekers, clearly with radar too. I spent 3 whole games in a row avoiding missiles tonight. Clearly the guy wasn't getting any where with me but do you think he'd p-off and get some easier targets? No. So two of us got no points. What a gimp. The difference between levelled up and not is more out of step than any other class. I think DICE neglected to think this one through. Sorry for lack of paragraphs. PS3 doesn't even work properly with its own site, lol.

No one spotting is annoying so I just spam spot near objectives and hope a vehicle pops up (note: doesn't work as squad leader), air radar also helps as its shows you unspotted ground vehicles as you pass over them. So any tanks I see I spot and destroy with rocket pods on my next pass, also spotting a jeep = free kills. Air radar is also awesome for keeping air targets from getting behind you/ getting behind them.

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

Just gotta keep trying I guess. I can fly helicopters easier than jets despite people saying they're hard. Sure I just finished Dark Souls and it was less difficult and frustrating than getting a few measly points in a jet.

Just got my first Service star with jets lol, 105 kills in total. Dog tag is pretty nice as well.

i love the pilot mastery dog tag, got mine yesterday shortly before my PS3 YLOD'd  think i only have 72 kills though. Whats your favourite set up? I prefer air radar, rocket pods and the extinguisher as it actually lets me assist the team by shutting down enemy vehicles rather than just dogfighting.

Sorry to hear about your PS3, my set up is Air Radar (Very helpful), IR Flares (Again helpful) and Heatseekers. I love to dogfight mostly as 95% of the time no one spots enemy vehicles so I can't really do much in the air other than shoot enemy threats down lol. I have thought about using other set ups like the extinguisher but the set up I have at the moment is more useful to me lol.

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

Finally making progress. Got my IR Flares and only a few points away from heatseeker. Managed to finally take down a couple of jets. Also I was aided along by some points the last game. Every minute or so it came up "attack orders taken" (or similar) 20 points a pop. Don't know what that was about but I wasn't complaining :smileyvery-happy:

ah you get those when the squad leader gives an order to attack or defend an objective and people in the squad actually do as he asks by killing enemies near that objective/capturing the objective (you see four little triangles around the diamond/square objective symbol), you were probably squad leader and pressed select while looking at the objective then some of your faithful squad did as you said, so you get points for it.

That can be another tip for people struggling to get points in jets :smileyhappy:

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

after quite a bit of difficulty with the choppers mainly due to instinctively using right stick to turn flat and rolling over into the ground, i found i can change the chopper control layout to legacy, which give me pitch and turn on right stick and yaw on the left

Well I was spot spamming the map hoping to pick up targets :smileyhappy:

Not that I picked up any :smileyindifferent:

Another tip, I don't think it's been mentioned, I only figured it right at the end on my last game before bed.

If you use yaw left or right across the map diagonally while holding the airbrakes you sort of glide sideways across the map at a decreased speed more able to take it in ie. You can glide from SW to NE while facing N. This line takes a bit longer than going straight across the map and gives you a little more time to scope out for vehicles below.

Re: MusterBuster's Pro Tips for Pilots

some friendly advice for chopper pilots (more for the co op level) try keeping your helo steady/hover over target areas if possible instead of constantly strafing turning fast,it will help your gunner get a fix on targets.

anyone else think flares need to be tweaked a little?..i used all my stingers trying to take a jet down,by the time it locks on the guys flares are ready to go again, with limited stingers and infinite flares jet/helo pilots can easily dominate the sky, maybe limiting flares to so many uses or slightly increasing the cooldown time so the stingers actually have a chance.

from what i saw theres perks that even increases the time it takes for stingers to lock on to your jet/helo,rendering them almost useless with no counter perk to combat this, and when i do get are hit all i get is vehicle disabled and the pilot just bails,if they are gonna make it so tough to lock on and hit jets/helos with stingers i would expect it to be a 1 hit kill when you do get lucky and bring that jet/helo down after firing 10 stingers at it..
