My main gripes with Bad Company 2 and Vietnam

First off let's set the record straight. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is one of, if not my favourite game this generation, which is probably why when ever problems/bugs occur it affects more than it normally would. I've thought about this list for a while and just wanted to see if anyone agrees with me

1. Game are over too quickly.

Now how much this has affected Bad Company vanilla I'm not too sure as I've been playing Vietnam exclusively but thanks to our good friend lag, one side almost always has his favour. This is especially highlighted when defending teams have lag, today for example I was part of a defending team and I may as well have picked up branches and thrown them at the enemy because my bullets did nothing. The attacking team ripped through us as if we weren't there, planting charges at will while I suffered death after death trying to put up some sort of resistance.

2. Nobody wants to risk their k/d ratio (Community problem)

A problem that I believe has been around for a while, one of the best things about Battlefield is the team work aspect thats necesarry to win games consistently. But more and  more I've noticed that many players when defending don't want to risk disarming crates in case they die, this I assume is because they don't want their ratios damaged. Now I'm no k/d ratio hoar but I do care about it and the amout of times I've died trying to disarm while others watch from a safe distance is ridiculous, if you don't care about winning the game as a team then (brace yourselves) go play Call of Duty.

3.a. Smaller problems in Vietnam

Just to sort of round things off I've noticed that snipers in Vietnam all seem to be the love child of Vassili Zaitsev and Solid Snake. Might be just me but a good majority of the time no matter from what distance, whenever I engage a sniper I always seem to be killed by a headshot. Now either I'm consistently going up against very. very good players or there seems to be a bit of programming allowance for snipers, hmmm....

3.b.

Lastly I think that the PBR boats are OP. Their guns seem to have a wide killing area with bullets getting an even spread, where ever those cross hairs are placed, anything in that area dies which to me seems vastly unrealistic. To prove my theory I muttered 'If you can't beat them , join them' and jumped in a boat on the temple level, parked it, manned the gun, and watched as I raked in kill after kill. There was no skill involved and I would like to see it fixed.

I realise this may seem picky and boring but I've played Bad Company and Bad Company 2 almost exculsively, dipping into whatever CoD was releashed inbetween but always coming back to BC. I generally consider myself a positive person but feel that these problems need to be addressed, thanks for reading

for 10 quid its not bad, but the maps seem to have been designed by the same numptys who made medal of honour, snipers seem to be a problem with this game and always have but doesnt help if you play a bunch of invincible hackers with aim bot enabled, their is hacks unfortunately and the developers never fixed the issue to disable them or ban them and this does tend to ruin a great game when you come across them

Aimbots on the PS3? Are you sure?... Maybe just sour grapes for poor performance on the battlefield, the blame needs to be placed somewhere I guess. OP - the boats can be a pain but are quickly dealt with. The skill is keeping one alive long enough to rack up them kills :smileyhappy:

I agree with most of your points tbh OP. It might offer a change of scenery and gameplay but I prefer the main game I think.

I have to agree. After playing both since launch I feel Vietnam is already a tad boring. Lack of transport, tanks and choppers make for a boring battlefield game. EA need to get off their asses and give us what we wanted - MORE 1943!!!!!

Re: My main gripes with Bad Company 2 and Vietnam

I've had a lot of fun on Vietnam, but also a lot of frustration. (I'l put it down to being a newbie again, not knowing the maps etc) It does seem like a shallow, arcadey experience in comparison to vanilla BC2 though. Also, I can't get the sensitivity to how I want it, even on the second lowest setting it feels too high, then changing to the lowest makes it... too low.

My biggest gripe the games are far to short, I am just starting to get into the groove when it's all over. However for the money it is a solid expansion and I would whole heartedly recommend it.

With only 3 sets of mcom stations per map I'm not surprised that the matches are short when compared to BC2.
