Hello

Im new to BF3.. Mainly a cod player. Looking for a party to play with (not a clan) just casual games bit of fun. Considering the last battlefield I have played was the first one things have changed. 

Any tips? Goos guns? attachments etc? ha. Mainly killer but i know BF3 is all about objective whch i like

Welcome to the game and forum.  

There's loads of people looking for friends in the PSN friends thread its worth adding your name if you haven't already.  There's a friendly server we have running at the moment if you like Conquest mode,  you'll find it in your server browser by searching for "OPC Conquest".  It requires 2 players to start up so its great for a small party of friends.

Weapons,  there's so much choice and changing attachments alters the handling of the gun so my advice is try them all and experiment.  Coming from COD you might like team deathmatch which will be familiar to you and its quick XP and mostly close quarters action.  

Some weapon attachment combinations give extraordinary attributes to the guns,  like the P90.  Its aimed accuracy is at 0.5 which is fair for a short range gun,  and firing from the hip is set at 1.0  Adding a laser sight reduces the hip spread by 50% lol - meaning the gun hip fires at 0.5 (same as aimed).

So there's literally no point in aiming down the sight,  because its just the same as hip fire.  So its like your aiming even when you're not,  its incredibly powerful as the gun fires at 900rpm and only takes a quarter of a second to kill.  

Anyway,  i'm sure you'll find a soldier class and gun you like,  enjoy your games.

Worth mentioning that if  your free on Sundays, everyone on the forum gets together to play against each other. It's a good way to meet up with the rest of the forum, plus add a few friends to your list. I regularly play with forum members.

If you have a mic, that's a plus. I find the game more fun with talking with other members. Did you get the first DLC pack to?

Ahh i see Wicked! I have a headset. (Astro A40's) Havent got the game through yet, hopefully will tomorrow. So ill see how thngs go from there. Thanks for all the info. Ill look into it all.

As for sundays, Im at work, but if theres anything in the afternoon ill probably jump into a game or 2.
