To any BF3 flyboys

I never really fly, i'm pretty much ground troop only but i do a fair amount of spotting wherever possible. Spotting soldiers and ground vehicles benefits me directly, but i also try and spot aircraft as well, under the assumption that it is doing some good for the team. But does it really help you or am i wasting my time spotting aircraft.

Spotting aircraft is useful as it allows you to see the enemy quicker but basically you should continue to spot anything that moves. Its great when you're piloting a jet/heli and someone spots an enemy tank/vehicle/soldier as it enables you to line up a perfect bombing run, without any spotting flying can be a pain in the a*s as you don't really see much of what's happening on the ground unless someone spots targets for you.

Absolutely it helps - a lot.

Especially if you spot the enemy gunship for your jet pilots. The quicker we can draw a bead on the gunship the better :smileyhappy:

Also, spotting ground vehicles is really helpful for those in the air.

Check out Extreme Golf or Shepherd for the iPhone.

Yea i agree it does help...

when i play with my lot if we run into a mass of enemy troops or tanks etc, we spot as much as we can and the others who are in air units just come along and wipe out as much as they can  for us to keep marching on to an objective...

Tactical airstrikes which we controll

Often, when you get in a dogfight or are chasing a chopper, you can lose sight of the enemy aircraft and can overturn or lose sight completely of the target... But if someone on the ground is spotting aswel, thats less likely.

As a general rule, Spotting is always a good thing.. No matter what it is your spotting.

Re: To any BF3 flyboys

like the "how not to be a noob at Bad company 2 video said" spot everything, EVERYTHING, if you have air radar other air vehicles are not such a problem, but spot tanks PLEASE! i carry rockets or the guided missile to deal with those specifically, i dont need Heat seakers, i can shoot planes down with dogfighting skills easy.

got a tank bothering you, spot it ill come about and bomb it back to the stone age. i might also crash which should amuse you :smileyvery-happy:

Re: To any BF3 flyboys

Thanks guys i will continue spotting everything as i already did. I tried my hand at flying, and people spotting enemy aircraft  for me as a novice flyer was invaluable. So easy to lose sight of the enemy otherwise.
