Re: Trying battlefield 3

Just get stuck in. I had to. This is my first Battlefield game after years of COD and personally I think it's far superior. I don't know why I didn't play it sooner. A word of caution though. Prepare to have your ass handed to you. You're going to run in thinking it's COD and find yourself in hot water quickly. Don't worry about it, we all do it. Remember it's a team game. Tomorrow the COMMS should be fixed and we should hopefully have more people communicating. You're no longer in boot camp, soldier, welcome to the war. :smileytongue:

Re: Trying battlefield 3

Just start of in TDM and squad deathmatch until you get used to the way the weapons handle.

Much steeper learning curve than in CoD. Don't attack tanks/IFV from the front, attack them from the back or sides.

Support your team by throwing down ammo, health packs, reviving, repairing, spawn beacon near objectives and spot. Pressing select will call out enemies that you a looking at. Your character will call out what class they are and an orange triangle will appear over that enemies head for your whole team to see. Works on vehicles too. Select also lets you ask for ammo/health etc when looking at team mate who is support/assault etc.

That video is very useful. Its a newbs guide to BFBC2 but all the general advice is still realavent to BF3

Re: Trying battlefield 3

Nice reply, and good advice Mr Inc.

I see a union flag in your sig, are you in the UK by chance?

Lets hope the Voice Comms are indeed fixed tomorrow !

I would however like to see more details as in What they are addressing Exactly though.

They are so secretive, you would stand more chance of getting info out of a ministry of defense minister than you do from EA/ DICE

it's laudable.

Cheers.

Unlike the British Government, I actually learn from my mistakes . . .Seriousley

Re: Trying battlefield 3

That guide is prefect Mr Inc, spotting is a must not enough people do it

I reckon Conquest is a good mode too as it is quite similar to domination

Re: Trying battlefield 3

Agree with you on Conquest. If you jump in a Rush match with out much experience then you'd likely get a good battering :smileysad: Good mode though I only like it on a few maps in BF3. Metro, Bazaar, Seine Crossing, Demavand Peak, Canals. Don't no about B2K maps haven't really played rush on em :smileysad:

General rules:

  1. Spot*
  2. Play the situation, not just how you want*
  3. support the team health packs, revives, ammo, repairs and some more spotting.*
  4. Don't snipe miles away from anywhere,  use lower power scope or sights and play near to the front lines as marksmen and spot.
  5. Use the vehicles but use them effectively*
  6. Don't through your self at a tank/IVF, take cover and let it pass then rocket it
  7. Learn from your mistakes.*
  8. In a helicopter? Shot down by a tank? Go up again, shot down again? look at the vehicle specs has it got guided shells? Yes = don't go up again to face certain death.

*points I believe a particular individual used to ignore all the time and ended up not enjoying the game :smileysad:I wonder why that person didn't find any fun in the game
