Unless in vehicles we (or possibly just me) make no particular effort to stay close. I tend to just run around grabbing the flags, healing, reviving and resupplies.

I tend to play quite lone wolf in a way, I go where I want regardless of where the rest of the team is going . Which is quite a good thing IMO. Maps like Grand Bazaar why does everybody seem to flood either end of the alley to B. Go round the side you divs. Same on Metro why does everybody pile into the lockers/stairs and middle staris why not go to the one nearest the ticket barrier. Makes me so mad  why throw your self into the meat grinder go around the nice deserted area's get behind them and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhWlAKdlQp4

I try to play the role of support and flanker in BF3. Support when needed too and flank when needed too.
