Re: battlefield turning into cod?

I think with things like Conquest DOM and TDM yes but also no, the hard core of BF fans will play Conquest and Rush as they always have

new guns? well i think the ACW-R is a beast but is it better than the others? probably not i dunno

as for lazor pointers thats an interesting subject. i only use them in close quarters battles, or games that may include that. and its only so i can use hipfire if im desperate, i dont have the quickest reactions in the world so i see it that it levels the playing field. i dont get them to blind people just to improve my chances in a fire fight.

you wouldnt find me using a laser pointer on any gun say in something like Caspien or Oman. Mehtro or Bazaar possbily

Re: battlefield turning into cod?

Battlefield is nothing like COD and never will be. It will never have floaty, feeling, skateboard movement. It will never get rid of bullet drop and various bullet speeds and distances. It will never appeal to squeaky, annoying, 10 year old American kids or get rid of the focus on teamwork. It will never.. oh I cant be bothered if you cant see the differences between the two games.

Even with close quarters it still isn't like COD, it still has its large maps, vehicles etc. I hate COD, I love BF for the large maps and vehicles. But I'm enjoying CQ as a nice change, and it had to have close quarters weapons to fit in with the gameplay.

My thoughts exactly.. The CQ maps are nothing like COD maps in fact they are still probably bigger. The gameplay although different to the standard maps is also nothing like COD gameplay. The CQ map pack does exactly what it says on the tin and adds a nice change to the game if you fancy some fast and furious action. If this was a game of Domination on COD you'd have numerous spawn campers but can honestly say havent been spawn camped once on the CQ maps. They seem to have got this spot on

Re: battlefield turning into cod?

i still think battlefield 3 is the best shooter on ps3 at the minute, but i do feel dice are slowly trying to emulate cod,of course battlefield 3 has huge maps and controllable vehicle's which cod doesnt, its the updated character movement and the recent adjustments to aim assist and hipfire that i feel makes the game more and more like cod....

i remember when the game had alot more of a weighty feel in the way you moved and aimed your gun,but now you can run around like rambo and turn on a penny, all while hipfiring your way thru people...

(this is my personal opinion from when the game was released up to now)

thanks for your feedback/opinions folks. :smileyhappy:

With the lack of popularity of MW3 a lot of people (CODheads) have decided that BF3 is their new game of choice and EA are loving it, but they should really have left Battlefield for the battlefield fanbase and concentrated on making medal of honor the CODclone

after all Medal Of Honor was once the daddy of fast paced FPS, until COD started doing what they did better and they faded away.

MOH needs to take back the arcade shooter crown and hopefully this will stop EA forcing DICE to fudge up BF3 until it ends up as COD with big maps and vehicles :smileysad:

I have big hopes for MoH Warfighter:smileyhappy:

I don't think there is a big chance of battlefield turning into a fish.

[ Edited ]

COD.....no but it more causal friendly and dumbed down (I doubt people get what i mean when i say that)

Alot of things in this game which make it easy and limit good players.

Same deal as COD....you can tell this if you look closely at the map design , TTK and radar. Also.....unlocks is another factor

Also the hit detection. is another example.....trust me mate you not seen how people exploit it yet. DICE has a dirty problem when it comes to that and it needs fixing.

Problem is who do you make the game for ? it a hard balance

Tbh....all games need a higher learning curve along with no unlocks. That way you don't get people abusing the best setups.

When i played the beta i knew what game this would be.....it was easy to see.

i know what you mean by "dumbed down" thats what i was hinting at with the last couple of updates dice released.

as for the hit detection exploiters, are you referring to how bf3 uses client side hit detection? and how theres alot of idiots that purposefully tweak their routers to have a high ping to mess with the hit detection ?

or the less extreme (although still annoying) fools who join a server (usa playing on eu servers) knowing they will lag the server up,between that and the stupid lag compensation it makes them almost impossible to get a hitmarker on due to their high ping?

i would be happy if dice made the servers region specific, you shouldn't be able to jump on an american server if your from the uk and such, why would you want/need to? (your just gonna lag the place up)

its just the fools who purposefully wanna lag up the servers to their advantage so taking that option away would sort that out..
