If your squad leader you can place your crosshairs and point to an objective then double tap select. This gives the orders to your squad to go there, while they sit at the spawn with the snipers trying to play BF3 like Cod

it is used to spot (puts a orange triangle above enemys head) , making it more easier for you to quickly identify the location of the enemy, the rest of your team-mates can also see it, if your team-mate kills the spotted enemy before you, then you will recieve a Spot Assist adding some points to your score - awesome!!

its great. . Its the most useful weapon in the game when used right.  I find it helps in the tunnel defending, its quite dark, yet narrow, so normally a press of the select will highlight the player which you can't see

didnt know about this but it seems really useful, i heard the beeping and thought "o_0"....but thanks for the heads up

It certainly aint red, but I think this is because most holographic cross hair are red, the arrows are certainly some sort of red/orange but closer to orange.
