ive heard sniping is pretty much useless and even if you shoot people in the head they dont die? and you cant quick scope? the servers are awfull? the game is buggy as hell and the campaign is rubbish?

I don't do sniping so can't comment on that, except that I'm sure I've been killed with one shot a few times.

I'm really enjoying campaign.

Had no problems with servers at all, or quick match. Xbox have been having issues though, so you might hear a lot from them.

My only complaint is the lack of larger personal lobbies. Only being able to have 3 people in your own lobby is useless for a team based game.

the people who said sniping is useless are prob doing it wrong

in bf3 you have to account for bullet drop so just pointing your cross hair at someones head and pressing fire will get you no where you have to aim above their head (the amount above is dictated by the distance to the target) and everyone ive shot in the head has died

dont do quick scoping so cant comment on that

not seen any buggs up to press (altho they could be there)

and the servers seem fine to me, only seen lagg for a couple of mins on launch day and not since

Hmm won't actually get my copy till monday, but did spend quite a few hours on the beta/demo and as said BF3 is more of a realistic fps than the cod series as in bullet drop and distance and of course power over distance too.

I have seen reports about server updates on facebook from EA so there are some teathing problems which are expected to be honest and they seem to be fixing them quickly.

For me BF3 is a no brainer as far as buying it goes but MW3 I will have to wait for at least 2-3 months after release to see if its any good .... been bitten by that series of games too much in the past.

So if BF3 is that bad it won't be for long!!!

playing it right now (on 360) got to say really enjoying this game, CANT  wait for uncharted 3 thou had my email friday to say it had been sent out so any time now.

The online is great from what I've played of it. Quick scoping? This has never been a feature in any Battlefield game I've ever played and I hope it never is.

I haven't played it for more than 10 minutes on console, but I assume the physics are the same as they are on the PC version. 'Quick scoping' is what happens when you have poorly balanced mechanics for different types of weapons, at least how it is on Call of Duty. The game is mixed up on what it actually wants to be, other games that have snipers that can be used in similar ways build the entire game around that sort of mechanic, Counter-strike, you can quick scope, but it fits in with the rest of the game.

Call of Duty, they attempt to move away from that sort of thing, yet still allow these snipers that haven't been balanced to account for these 'Quick scoping' techniques. Battlefield's snipers are much more important because of the large maps, so it would be tempting for everyone to go sniper, so they need to balance that out, how? Make it a little more realistic.

The bullet drop means you're not just picking off everyone you want to, you need to account for the time the bullet takes to travel, how far the enemy is from you so you can adjust for bullet drop and make sure your lens reflections aren't likely to be as visible.

You can't say that BF3 is bad just because those that are using camping stop gap until MW3 can't get a one hit kill, that's a bit pathetic of them. OP if you prefer more of a challenge then BF is the better game. Like someone said above you actually need to take into account distance and dropping distance (just be glad they didn't throw wind into the factor). Just because you've got the enemies head directly in your sights doesn't mean its a headshot!
