With the tank buff hopefully they've compensated by nerfing choppers which are invincible (with with low flying lock on invincibility, quickly flying out of range invincibility, Infinitely respawning flares, etcetc
I'd love you to try to use below radar against when I'm Tanking and see how invincible you are .
Took down 2 Havocs and 1 KA60 *lights ***** using my zippo, looks up a cloudy* that was in a single tank *blows smoke in cloudys face*
You have to be 25 meters or lower for it to work so unless you are a very good pilot its not an option a lot of the time.
Very good pilots are very hard to take down regardless of what set up they use because of skill, though if they have a numpty as gunner who will not flare when the pilot is clearly using ECM makes you want to land, grab the gunner and beat the living daylights out of him Which makes going against lots locks a nightmare.
Hopefully now a tanky who is playing tactically is hard to take down. For instance when a tank opens fire on my tank I will manoeuvre my tank to give me the best chance. Yet he does nothing so its his side vs my front I should win even if he fired first. Thats how it used to be but after the previous patch he could roll up fire against your front leaving his side exposed you hit his side knowing he's getting your front yet you lost
Used to be great in tanking as the best tanker would win the fight, even if they were ambushed by the other tank. I didn't mind getting killed by a superior player who beat me through skill and tactics. You may have seen posts were I have *doffed my hat/cap* to them. Usually leads to me thinking "hmmm never thought of doing that" I then learnt a new tactic and improved my game. Then it became a case of just fire first, sod positioning. Taking on other tanks no longer required any tactics other than fire first. The game (as a tanker) became more mundane with less player development as the learning curve became a straight line*
Hope the patch is good as the noob tankers have had it easy they'll get a surprise when the take on a Master Tanker who will manoeuvre to counter and tank them more vigorously then they have ever been tanked before . Hopefully the learning line is back to be a learning curve
