Heres a quick list of my own I quickly made up for an example....
Proper hand-held weapons (lazers,guns, flamethrowers etc)
Ladders (to climb vertical)
enemy sackboys n girls (either NPC or play against a friend online)
proper double jumping mechanic (also the jumping is a bit niggly at times, maybe even grab & jump option too)
climbable material (vertical)
water & oil hazards
weather system (snow, rain etc would add extra depth to backgrounds and could affect material properties in level)
more complicated emitters (plot paths like zig zags or circles etc)
custom music (to import)
age restricted levels (for the kids that just have to have there ***** levels)
more than 3 horizontal plane paths option (looks like it could have 5 or more)
create new costumes from scratch in costume mode
create new custom objects (like the candle and skulls etc which can not be made out of game materials)
full keyboard and mouse support in create mode
improved publish features and how levels show (so after 20mins people can still view your level on planet without searching it by name)
quick-sand material/hazard
switches being able to turn off/on the fire/gas/electricity hazards
better way/material to make spring boards for higher jumps (too twiddly atm using springs)
enemy drop power-ups (such as weapons or equipment)
enemy health bar (for bosses)
more equipment (like rocket pack, but other things such as mountain climbing gear to go verticval up sides, or digging equipment to go through certain materials)
transporters (to transport you across the map to a new point or to even a completely new level instantly)
option to change properties of material (for example how slippy and transparent glass it)
pick your own fonts for text
better sticker creation tools (to make your own better, like a paint creation tool)
more create monster items (more selection of eyes, brains legs, wheels and new items etc etc)
option to create a new material & characteristics (such as slime, oil, gold, leather etc)
option to protect levels being copied
translation for foreign text in-game (for levels created by international users)
youtube upload facility (like eden has)
author bio page ( so you can read about the author themself)
reverse point time option (longer time equals more points option....so you can get more points for the longer you stay alive in a level which does not allow for stoping still)
more emotions than happy, sad, angy, scared (like puzzled, loving, impatient, over-excited)
voice recording/play (readin text in games is so 1990s)
capture images from PC or/and PS3 hard drive (not just eye camera, no matter how much sony wants them to sell)
customize a levels gravity (to change jumping height & length)
time till death timer (complete level in certain time or die)
Better co-op play, staying with-in the screen limitations much more (for example it is almost impossible for you to both get on seperate rocket cars and stay on screen without one dying)
offline single play and creating levels
Moving, re-naming levels without re-setting the stats (I can understand why editing/re-publishing does, but not simple moving or changing name/description/Icon
I think I'll stop there before I make too many peoples eyes bleed.
Also I love the game and will be camping out my local store at midnight on release, So please do not take this is a hating thread. I just see more untapped potential being held back (probabaly on purpose) by Media Molecule.
I know this is the 1st version of the game and later will come many more add-ons, I am sure atm they just want to keep it as simple as possible and in time it will grow and expand with more sets of features such as many of the above ones mentioned (They just want to prioritise).
I just hope between the beta and final game they have tweaked the jumping mechanic/scheme as it is very niggly and annoying at most times. (everything else can wait for expansions)

Actually from following all that Mm have stated.. most things you mention have been left out for a richer experience and to allow for a less intimidating creative process.
I'm sure all of your ideas have been critically assessed by the team and I'm certain they know what they're doing. I am holding out for importing of graphics/music, a rating system (that is abuse-proof) and a fairer LBP where I can see levels I HAVEN'T played yet!
Just remember that Mm want LBP to feel like LBP and that it must be accessible to absolutely ANYONE!

Don't know if i missed it in the game, it should realy be there.. a switch parameter that works like the custombuilt "permanent switch" in World of colors.. also a option to reset the stage if you die..

i love the idea for a youtube uploader. the ones in red i don't like the rest are well...ok ideas

It would be nice to back-up what you did not like with reasons as to why.
For the enemy health bar for bosses that you did not understand, let me explain......
At the moment it takes one jump to kill ALL enemies. It would be nice if you could have an enemy with a health meter and you can not kill them in one hit/jump/whatever. For example so you can create end of level baddies that are harder to kill.
Also, what is wrong with having more variety/equipment based items in the same token as the way the rocket pack is (why only a rocket pack)?

Only the water should be added, but i kinda understand why it's not added too.
Other than that you can create most of the things u suggest without adding things IMO.

well there is nothing wrong with having more variety/equipment i just though that mountain climbing gear sounded a bit...silly.
i have to say i do like the idea of having an enemy health bar, but i didn't really get it at 1st.
having things like guns and laser guns ect... just take it a bit to far it is hard to explain but it just wouldn't seem right if it became more of a "shooter" game....??.....just sounds daft to me??

I suppose really I just think of things so that ANY kind of platform game could be accurately re-created...

Pac Man
Bubble Bobble
Mario
Lemmings
Pit Fall
I know many of the above have been paid homage to in LBP, but imagine actually being able to use the same style because of more control over your level creations.
I know the game is not supposed to be able to re-create other platform games acurately, or is even ment to do so... but (for me atleast) it would be good to have the tools to make any type of platform game you desire in any style similiar to those you love.
Imagine the endless possibilities of new home made games available if we could only do have a choice of everything on the list if we chose to use them.
Just because weapons or equipment is available to use does not mean you have to use them on your levels/games.... same with everything else..... you can still choose your own creation style instead of being stuck to one style having no choice.
Anyway I am in day dream land and probabaly on a different page to most other peeps.
I still love the game and can't wait until it arrives in 6hrs time (yeah for ebay).
