Re: Game of Thrones

For someone that hasn't read the books I was fairly disappointed with a couple of things. Not hard to guess at least one of them. That said I'm still looking forward to next season.

@ Windslot

What were you disappointed with mate?

I only had one miniscule gripe, in EP08 when Arya stabs the stable boy, his acting mad me laugh so hard. Thats all i got.

Anyway I'm interested to hear of your disappointment?

Re: Game of Thrones

2 episodes from the end. It really is a remarkable production. So many great actors. I noticed that the last episode was written by George R. R. Martin himself too.
The intensity is unbelievable now. I really am not expecting an ounce of everything to be wrapped up nicely at the end of the season! That's what really annoys me about most Television. The need for everything at the end of the day to remain as it was. I've heard that if it remains really true to the books it just can't go that way Game of Thrones and good to hear too. It's great that George R. R. Martin is an executive producer.

I absolutely loved seeing Clemens or Charles Dance from Alien 3 too as Lord Tywin Lannister.

As not to spoil it for people that haven't watched the lot...

Spoiler

- Ned Stark getting killed.

In my opinion he was the main character. I've read around that there isn't really main characters in this. It opens up to show the story of Rob a bit more too I guess but yeah that was the big disappointment for me.

- Drogo dying.

After Ned's death I was hoping Drogo would get well, then go over to the mainland and kill everyone off :smileytongue:. Dany would then get the throne. I really dislike the Lannisters, with the exception of Tyrion so that would have been a good result. I guess it's still possible Dany will get over there with her dragons however.

- Rob not killing Jaime in revenge of his father's death

So the Starks want to ensure the two girls are safe in Kings Landing, but an eye for an eye imo.

Re: Game of Thrones

^ Fair and valid points there mate, without having read the books either (buying today!) it took me by surprise with some of the events that unfolded. Still very excited to watch the progression and ascendancy of some of the characters, and hopefully the demise of a select handfull
