Not much chance at Best Screenplay I suspect

I thought after watching clips on TV the last few days that the movie in 3D looked less CGI-ish.... maybe it was just the 3D glasses blurrying things up... but the characters look less real to me watching clips on TV.

Well, it only took about 39 days, but Avatar has officially become the highest-grossing movie of all-time, beating out Titanic. Perhaps it's a little skewed given the rate of inflation and the fact that a lot of people saw this in 3D which costs more, but a sequel has been confirmed (according to Wikipedia) and will continue to follow the adventures of Jake and Na'tiri (?).

They can't do that!
.... There was no Dances with Wolves 2... and unless there was a direct-to-video that I'm not aware of, there was no Pocahontas 2 either!

Well, if it's any consellation Cameron always intended that the series would be a trilogy provided the first film was a commercial success, so it isn't like once opening weekend was over he scrambled to book two new films.
You know what kind of film the second one will be, the earth forces will regroup and come back in larger, better-armed forces, and there's talk that the Colonel will be brought back (most likely cloned from a DNA sample) but in a supersoldier form (think Tim Roth in the Incredible Hulk).
Hell, I wouldn't even be surprised if the sequel was called Avatars
