The digital bits has word that the LotR will be released on Blu -Ray in the USA in November.
They will be the full theatrical editions of the 3 movies.
Hopefully we will get this at the same time and hopefully they will be in HD audio as well and not just plain old DD.

It's probably one of the big series' that needed bringing to Blu-Ray. Now all they need is the six Star Wars films (even though the prequel trilogy was *****), the original Indiana Jones trilogy, and there are probably others but I can't think right now.
EDIT: Why the heck is b0llocks a banned word?

Does full theatrical version mean full extended version? If so, yes from me.
Nope, it means the version that was released in cinemas not the more superior (in my opinion) extended edition that was released on DVD.
Looks like we'll be waiting for the extended edition. ![]()

I was under the impression that it was going to be both extended and theatrical, done by branching. That would be the way to go, i cant think why they'd bother just releasing a barebones on bluray, that's just silly.
If that's the case though, I'll just wait, I did it for the dvds, I was not interested in just picking up the theatrical.

They will be DTS-HD i believe but unless you have a 10k surround sound you wont notice much difference between DTS and DTS-HD. Not that it really matters DTS sounds awesome anyway.
