In the next firmware update. I would like to see Divx .mkv files supported. I'm encoding my dvd's and the ps3 currently doesn't support .mkv files. I'm sure a lot aggre with me. We're in a time were digital is the new thing now.

The best answer right there. Like me you will forget about all the ps3 can not play and have more space on your ps3 for actual games and data. From lossless audio to full HD mkv files with subtitles.

I'd like to see VCDs supported, but I think I may be in a very small minority on that one.

Hey,
DivX is already supported.
DivX MKV - Not so much.

If you'd like to use MKV files, definitely set up your Media Server option there and then just stream it from the computer itself.
Probably easier then waiting on MKV support.
