Rumourmill...Simpsons may (finally) end

please let this be true...

Dont get me wrong the Simpsons was one of my favourite shows.

but enough is enough... it was getting stale 10 years ago.

Though the biggest ever farce is Yeardley Smith earning

$8million per season...personally i think she should take a

$7,970,000 pay cut...she is easily the least talented

voice actor ever

As much as I love the Simpsons I to agree that it is time to end it. There is only so many adventures that you can have.

Re: Rumourmill...Simpsons may (finally) end

Sadly my memory of this once great show is muddied

by the recent crop :smileysad:.

But they really should just end it...sadly though it seems to have

been extended for another 2 seasons at least.

imo Matt Groening should let this thing die and concentrate on Futurama

which is an awesome show.

I havnt minded the last few seasons.

I think someone woke up to the fact that most of the late 00's seasons were boring.

I thought they were on a comeback until I heard this.

Re: Rumourmill...Simpsons may (finally) end

I actually saw some recent ratings for the Simpsons.

(think it was on yahoo so not entirely reliable)

But it mentioned that 10 years ago something like 25 million

people in the USA watched the show...its now down to 7 million

(which is still good but Im pretty sure most of that is for re runs)

Re: Rumourmill...Simpsons may (finally) end

There's no denying the Simpsons is nowhere near as contemporary as it once was, nowadays relying on ridiculous situations, obnoxious humour and lazy guest appearances along the lines of "hey, it's (insert famous person name here)!!!" variety. But I'm glad the show didn't end like this. Unfortunately the longer it goes on, the more undignified the cancellation will be. And nobody wants that. Nobody wants the Simpsons to end on a flat episode and a headline on IGN that the party's over.

[ Edited ]

The Simpsons was once very good, but, as with all shows, it has got stale with age.

It still amazes me that Fox keeps this show on life-support, whilst cheerfully cancelling Futurama whenever it can.

The only reason why is that the Simpsons is one big cash-cow for Fox that they just don't want to let go of.
