The difference though is that comic books appeal to only one audience - comic book fans. Changing the content of comics probably won't attract more kids or housewives or some other social class. Movies on the other hand have broad appeal, and it's hard to juggle which audience you go for. Do you go for the kid-friendly PG Spiderman? The Watchmen no-holds-barred brutality? The trend these days is the M-rated somewhere-in-between style.

lol, Batman & Robin may be one of the worst superhero movies of all-time, but here's Arnie's cold puns in 1:06 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRH-Ywpz1_I It's all you need to see of the movie.

The tip is that actor Logan Lerman will take the role of Peter Parker. For those who don't know that name, he's the lead role in the upcoming Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief film. IMO he's just a more masculin Zac Efron but each to their own.
I'd prefer Michael Cera too, I think he's got that kind of nerdy-yet-cool style to pull off the role, as anyone who's seen Superbad and Juno will tell you.
