So, I've read all the posts here. I have the same problem. I have both the disk based game as well as the PS+ "version".
The 3 bips when quitting as wall as the "hard Reset" is actually the game crashing. I've changed a lot of setting in order to see what is causing this. Quitting from front end (main menu) or from any part of the game will make the game crash. If you quit from any other part of the game except the main menu will corrupt your save data.
What I found is that using a non premium avatar will not make your game crash.
Due to the fact that this is related to premium avatars (Sony stuff) EA will not fix this (never ever) because is Sony's problem now. The game worked fine before they've implemented premium avatars. This will probably be fixed with some minor FW update (these are the so called "small improvements" that you see in what's new in the latest update).
Changing your avatar is a very valid fix.
