Buzz Controllers Switch Off Mid-Game

I have been having loads of problems with the Buzz remote. I must attempt to re-sync the remote every time I want to play a game, and if that finally works- the remote will seemingly un-sync midgame leaving me and my party full of friends buzzer-less during the middle of the round. I have on multiple times replaced the batteries, and synced the remote , but I cannot get these controllers to work. Any ideas, tips , or tricks you seasoned Buzz veterans can offer would be greatly welcomed.

Only thing i can think of is to try the other USB socket on the PS3. (If you haven't already)
