GrizzlyMV ha escrito:Hi Caspar,
Could you tell me from which country should I get the Disc 2 you described? I'm living in Quebec/Canada and despite the fact the government now forces video games companies to distribute a french translated version of their game here, if another copy translated in french already exist elsewhere in the world, we still get this new version of Buzz in english only (American version).
So I'd like to buy the CD that contains both french and english on it and from what you're saying, I should get Disc 2. I thought that the Disc 2 would be for UK, but from the description, it seems that UK got disc 1. Can you guide me where I could buy the right disc? The major issue I have is when I go on Amazon stores (fr, uk, etc) they don't details the languages contained on the game, so no way to know if we are buying the right disc.
Thanks in advance for your time.
Best Regards

Hey GrizzlyMV,
Disc 2 (which has French on), should be on sale in France, Italy, Germany and The Netherlands. I'd say your safest bet would be Amazon.fr
I can't be 100% definite because Quebec isn't ofically supported by that version. Also bear in mind that if you buy that version you'll only be able to play online with European players, and the English on that disc is 'International' - ie not tailored to the US market. I only mention this as the US version of the game has questions specific to US, which in terms of sport and so forth might be a better fit for Canadians.
Up to you of course.
On the wider question of why there isn't a French (or Spanish) verison of the US disc for South America/Quebec, that's something you'd have to ask SCEA, it's a business decision they make, we just create a US version for them.

OK, here's my problem.
Just bought quiz world here in belgium, put the disc in my ps3, but guess what, I cud only pick English, Australian or international english as language....
looked at the back of the game, and it shows an icon of a globe with a 2 next to it... so if i read well there shud be a dutch option....
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!

Thanks for the info dan_relentless.
I've posted on the US board, not many non-english people are going there. And nobody from sony replied, yet.
Now, I'd like to buy it from Amazon.fr or amazon.de but the problem is that the price for the CD only is about 39.99...euros where on amazon.ca it is 39.99....$ CAN. So in the end, the game cost almost twice the price when converted in canadian currency (and don't forget extra for intl shipping). I try to find other places not in euro, where the currency conversion will not hurt that much. Any other ideas anyone?
Last time with Quiz TV I was lucky enough to get my hand on a promo disc on Ebay that had french and english languages, for almost the same price as I'd pay for the game, and I was able to re-sell my US disc to compensate a little. But it could be a while since I find the same deal on Buzz World.
No luck on that side so far.
I love Buzz games, and I'm willing to loose a lot of functionalities (questions packs, online play, etc) just to enjoy it with my friends, but not for twice the price.
There was a lot of people here in Quebec who were really unhappy when they realized that Buzz TV was english only. They'll be more careful this time and most will just skip Buzz World, which is a shame as it seems so much better than the previous one.
But let's not forget the high number of spanish people in north and south america who are in the same situation.
I know it's not Relentless's fault. I don't blame you. But maybe you could be more efficient than us to report your customers feedback to Sony.
I am hoping for maybe a change in Sony's decision and add, even post launch, another media with French, Spanish and English in America, but I feel like it's a wishful thinking...

No, there's no disk for Quiz World with just French or just Italian. It's possible the ebayer is thinking of the 'Brain of' game? I'd advise asking for a photo or something to be sure.
Have you tried posting in the French Buzz forums, see if a friendly member would buy you a copy and send it?

Hi Dan_Relentless,
Well, it look like I'll have to skip that version.
I tried on the french forum, but hard to find someone to buy you a copy when you don't know that person. I asked for another place to buy instead of Amazon.fr because Amazon.fr cannot deliver video games in north america (so canada!). I'm regularly checking on Ebay but no luck so far...I found 2 "german" version, the guy was saying that the box, manual and game was in german only. But considering your description above, I assumed it was also containing the french language on disc. However, he was not delivering in canada, so screwed again.
When we talk to Sony, they say they don't understand and they think the situation make no sense and say the decision is from the publisher, not Sony. Is it true? maybe, maybe not...anyway, the end result is that it seem it's almost impossible to obtain a french CD to canada. I which Relentless were selling their game online, then maybe I would have been able to select the french one directly...oh well..
Thanks for all the help anyway. Looks like I'll have to wait for the next version. But based on the last 2 ones, I don't hold my breath for a french version in America.
But I'll cross my fingers just in case.

Hi Caspar,
Thanks for the info provided regarding the multilingual dics. I have a question regarding this that I believe it is related with the topic of the thread.
I was recently bought this game by my brother for Christmas in Spain so I am assuming my disc falls into the category 3. I was playing a couple of days in Spain with friends and the game was in Spanish. The thing is that when I have come back to the uk where I currently live in the game appears in English.
Could you shed some light why this is the case and if there is any option to alternate the game in Spanish and English?
Many thanks
