I guess theres no word yest on any BLOPS 2 editions that include an elite sub like the MW3 hardened ed?

I bought the hardened edition and feel that was great for me, gave me piece of mind that no more cash would be needed out of the box.

I see the blops hardened / care package editions have no elite sub, so I guess I'll need to just buy a new subscription when mine runs out in January? Seems like a way of potentially getting people to buy the hardened edition for the bonus maps and an Elite sub on top tho, which kinda sucks!

Though the hardened/care package editions have those coins that unlock online content - has this content been unveiled or is it just the extra nuketown maps and theme? If so the hardned edition seems steep in price.

i dont think blackops 2 will be using the elite service as they would of included it with the more expensive versions

It will be ("Elite 2.0"), more info coming this month.

Guess they're not including it this time round cause they want more people to pay full price for it.

Another point, I have a friend who subscribed to elite last month, so his sub covers the period for half of next years blops2 DLC season...wonder if he'll get the most of the DLC without having to resub elite?!

Nope.

He'll have to pay for another year's Elite to get the Blops2 DLC.

not really as people have said how poor the elite service is plus with the dlc stuff even i get confused with it

was playing modern warfare 3 last couple of days and on average theres just under 3500 players on the elite game list

So the Elite sub technically gets you 1 season DLC and 12 months elite 'service'. His 'service' will continue (i.e. clan challenges etc...) for the duration of his sub, for both MW3 and Blops 2 (?) but no DLC for the next game.

If he were to resub when blobs 2 comes out for the blops 2 dlc, will the additional 12 months get added to his existing end date or will he in effect waste some months of service?

Appreciate these ponderings will probably not be fully clarified until Activision makes an Elite announcement, which I'm waiting on before deciding what version to preorder!

You'll have to wait till later this month for Activision/Beachhead to explain exactly how it's going to work.

Not the most encouraging of things for customers wondering what they should purchase, or wait for..if there is anything to wait for! Or not.
