Treyarch is committed to providing all gamers with the best online experience possible, and that means maintaining the game’s integrity. We have a zero tolerance policy against exploitation, and this is to protect the many gamers who go online to compete and have legitimate fun. Below is a brief outline of our security and enforcement policy which will remain posted and will get updated here.
The team at Treyarch has worked very hard to create a fun, competitive online environment, and we want to keep this environment clean so that the game can be played as it was intended. Users who abuse the game through modding, boosting, glitching or making offensive emblems degrade the online experience for others, and we will take action to prevent this from happening.
Keep it clean. Play nice. Have fun.
Thanks
- Team Treyarch
CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS - SECURITY & ENFORCEMENT POLICY
Modders
Users who have modified their hardware and have run hacked script or code. This includes modifying profile data to use illegal characters in a player’s name.
Boosters
Users who organize to exploit the game for the explicit purpose of ranking up very quickly or to appear in a high position on the leaderboards.
Glitchers
Users who go out of their way to exploit the game to grief other players. An example would be going outside of the map’s clearly defined playable boundary.
Offensive emblem makers
Users who create emblems that are sexually gratuitous or racially offensive.

gota give it to treyarch for at least making a point of all the stuff that infinity ward swept under the carpet.
its a bit worrying though that theyre gona be run off their feet sorting the basic functionality on the ps3 version before they can start dealing with all the cheat/glitchers/etc ![]()

too little... too late... if IW and Sony stamped on the cheats to start with, their would be a clearer message to cheaters, at the moment most of them know nothing much will happen to them... there isnt even a clear way to report someone to Sony that has hacked a game... and the cheats know that...

there is a nice report menu in black ops to report (amongst other things) glitching.
not sure why you would report it to sony - report it to the game developer.

but it wont stop the hackers/modders
true. all we can do is report it. it's up the the powers that be what they do with that info. if they ignore it then it's up to them. if they read and check what's been reported it will hopefully help combat it and assist in future testing etc their side prior to release.
it's hard to eradicate it 100% but hopefully things are being monitored and acted upon.

Treyarch, Activision, and Playstation. They are companies, and companies are there to make money. They won't spend much time in moderating a game that has been released already. There's no return...
They will learn and try and implement these in their next years release of COD.
Why waste honest, valuable man hours when they won't necessarily see a return. They will help the community as much as possible, but they are also shooting their selves in the foot.
Banning people from use it will later down the pipeline lose money for their subscription/ map packs and extra game modes that may or may not come out.
I think it's good what they propose, but they should concentrate on fixing the game's online issues.
I think they are just saying this in general and releasing it to scare off the little people.
