Re: Black Ops the worst Online Multiplayer Connection!

Everyone stop your Bitching about BO's online.

Its your fault.

I live in Tasmania.

We have some of the worst connections in the world. That is why the NBN was originally placed in Tas.(Not Available to me at the moment)

Yet BO works extremely well,l and I have little to no lag on games, due to the fact that I paid for a decent connection.

Tas doesn't get much, so all you Sydney,Melbourne, and Brisbane complainers need to fess up that the probs are all at your end...eg. cost.

Re: Black Ops the worst Online Multiplayer Connection!

no the problem is that COD uses a client host model (most people incorrectly call this P2P) when the game needs dedicated servers

I used to have a cool sig and avatar, but they don't work anymore :smileysad:

Re: Black Ops the worst Online Multiplayer Connection!

hi all, im really new to online gaming & have recently been playing black ops. yes ive loads of problems too-lag,hosts etc.

after reading some forums im still trying to work out how to change my NATtype from strict? can anyone help me here.

what is it relative to?

i have tried using only "local" match types but still have same sort of problems.

my ps3 is connected directly to my telstra network gateway using an ADSL2 connection. i live in wodonga,vic/nsw border, so internet speeds are pretty crappy anyway, but i would happily try anything to make my game time more enjoyable. ive used speedtest.net (as previously mentioned in this thread) and results are as follows

ping 38ms  D/L=5.56Mbps  U/L=0.71Mbps

http://www.speedtest.net/result/1199487003.png

when playing black ops(only at level 34);

- i have almost no "auto-aim" feature, by the time ive hit L1, im usually dead.

-ican unload a clip from the famas or AUG into an enemy(no flak) using hardline perk and they'll run up to me & knife me dead!!

im not going to enter into a debate about p2p, servers, treyarch vs activision, mw2 vs BO etc as stated , im a noob and still learning about all this online gaming scene.

just wanted to know where how & what i may need to do to reduce lag??  change NAT type and any advice would be greatly appreciated..

cheers to any & all. thx im.:Stupid:i know!

Re: Black Ops the worst Online Multiplayer Connection!

Hi, I'm on vodafone NZ and I can say that I am so frustrated suffering from this kind of connection. They offered us a 2 year contract and now they gave us a vodafone branded wifi-n router when really it is a china branded router with limited network support and customisation.

So 90% of my problem is from the ISP (eg. lag, lag, lag, more lag, when you watch the nemesis killcam I have a 2 second delay), 5% is from the client-host model of BO (eg. connection interrupt), and the other 5% is from the quitters who doesnt want to see the 'defeat' text in red, thus resulting in host migration.

I can pretty much say that vodafone NZ sucks in providing home internet, but really good for mobile devices and such.

Re: Black Ops the worst Online Multiplayer Connection!

hi buddy not sure if u got the problem sorted by now but i was on a strict or moderate nat (nat 2 ) and had all the same problems, so i found out if u load mw2 into ur ps3 and go online with it, it will make ur nat type open, once got to the multiplayer and  before u go to find game u should see it say nat type open at this stage just eject the disk and load black ops and again go multiplayer and check ur nat it should say open gd luck
