COD4 + WAW = lost to hackers forever?

World At War is my favourite COD multiplayer game, with COD4 coming in a close 2nd. This weekend I playe some COD4 and ended up in hacked 'Zombie' game modes or lobbies with players flying around. I also had to report several players from World At War, who were using invincibility hacks and getting instant multiple headshots on the entire team whenever they spawned.

The multiplayer aspect of these games is one feature of a product which the makers are still selling and earnings profits from, and IMO they have a duty to ensure their product is not broken despite being a few years old.

Have either Treyarch or Infinity Ward given any indication that they're going to fix the problems with hackers in COD4 and WAW?

Trey stopped supporting WaW ages ago, and IW dont look to be patching COD4 anytime soon.

COD4 + WAW = COD4 + COD5 = COD9

Er... thanks, I guess :smileyindifferent:

So Treyarch have basically washed their hands of WAW? Shame. I guess it's just a case of keeping fingers crossed I don't end up in a lobby with hackers.

No chance of W@W been fixed but there is some hope for CoD4. IW had "meetings" a week or two ago about it.

No problem :smileywink:

About your hacking issue, waw is 3 years old i believe so do you really think they would still concentrate on that game rather than their current game (black ops)?

If you join a hacked lobby just find another one. Out of all the lobbies there will still be some legitimate ones.

It's a product they're still selling so yes, I'd expect them to support it. That's good news about COD4, hopefully something will come of it.

I dont think willingly though, i dont think they're still sending out copies and with their existing copies if they were to recall them all it would be a massive and highly complex operation and probably not one worth carrying out.

Agreed. But if its not going to be fixed they should take down the map packs from the store?

Might penalise people who still want to play it despite the hacks and  haven't bought the MP's yet.

But yeah it seems like a reasonable request.
