COD4 yes/no comfim ** ** FIX ** **

Hi Guys, Just want to return the favor for all those who has helped me solve issues using forums to post solutions... I've been online reading alot about that annoying "yes/no comfirm" screen. Guys that hasn't had that happen to them try to say game is hacked or disk is damaged or you got banned... Neither one of those are true... I dont know why really, but I found a fix to get around that screen, and it has worked for me. I wanted to share it with my fellow COD friends... Starting up the game like regular gets that annoying screen so this is what I did after few in depth trials.... I did everything from deleting game data, deleting my game profile, redownloading the game update, redownloading the game map pack, disconnecting my ethernet cable.. etc... etc... And i came up with a simple solution that has worked for me... i hope that it will work for u and you can pass it on in other forums to help solve this problem that I believe our latest ps3 updated did to the game...

STEPS:

Just start the ps3 and login to the PSN as normal ... (redownload all ur game update and map pack if u bought it) (If you start the game now like normal, u will get that confirm screen)

Goto Network Settings and "Disable" the internet option... Wait 5sec (thats what i did) and then "Enable" the internet option again ...

Then start the game and it will load up like regular without getting stuck on the confirm screen... But it seems i have to do these steps everytime i leave the game and restart it.... Its not a bad solution given I dont know why its necessary but it worked for me. It takes an extra 5sec to "Disable" then "Enable" the internet option... Thats why I believe it has to do with the latest PS System update... Its not the game, its not the disk, its not my psn act, its not because i cheated or hacked the game....

Please pass this on to our fellow COD4 friends or post in other forums to help get the word around... Its weird that few of my friends can load the game just fine without the confirm screen issue... I'll leave the problem solving to others who know more or why, I'm just posting what happen to me and others... And returning the favor ....

say hi if this fix worked for u... It would be cool to see how many I have helped with post... Merry X-Mas

Re: COD4 yes/no comfim ** ** FIX ** **

Didn't work for me either.

Recently bought CoD4:MW GotY as it was the only versions of CoD I hadn't bought.  Disc is like new, shows no scratches, finger marks or blemishes.  Insert disc and get prompt to d/l 12mb of update which installs.  Game then tries to start but gets stuck with a screen prompting me to press X on Yes or No.  But I can't select either option, the only thing I can do is press the PS button and Quit Game which then resets the PS3 completely.

If I disconnect the internet as suggested above I can access the single player campaign and play that, but so far no joy at all getting online.

I don't hack/cheat/boost and have not been banned/blocked from any other CoD game so can't see that being the issue, especially as I've never played the game.

Really confused.  Is this a problem with the firmware?  Is it my network settings (fwiw I have no issue finding joining matches on any other game, not just CoD)?  Have Sony or Activision acknowledged this as an issue?

Re: COD4 yes/no comfim ** ** FIX ** **

Slightly off topic but I bought MW2 from the Playstation store and both map packs, it was great until last night when gravity disappeared in one of the games, everytime I jumped I went very high then died by suicide upon landing. There was strange words on the left of the screen.

If the game has been hacked why are they still selling it on the store with a 'no refunds on this item' disclaimer, selling something broken as a finished product is deceitful and I should get my money back. They should remove the game from store until its patched.

I've also learnt that many people who are 10th prestige actually didn't earn it, so all badges are meaningless and you can only really judge someone on their scoreboard position each game, i've seen loads of 10th prestiges with terrible scores in the game summary - now I know why. If so many cheaters have ruined the multiplayer mode then the game is unplayable basically, its a great shame that the iconic maps I loved from C4 like 'overgrown' are now consigned to dust and lost forever. A piece of gaming history has died and passed into legend.

Gamers have always been the most dedicated fans of any medium, how did we let this happen ?

I agree with you mate, hackers and boosters have ruined cod 4, waw and mw2, they're a disgrace.

Re: COD4 yes/no comfim ** ** FIX ** **

Last time i played it there were no hacks , they'd even patched the rock glitch on fuel!!!

But alas we all know what these people are like just a pity mw2 didn't have a report function could've stamped this out earlier.

Really feel for you op that is a bummer of a position you are in , only advice i can offer is to back out of suspect lobbies and try again.

Maybe this is one for oft or watchdog to get in about , essentially you have purchased something not fit for purpose , consumers have rights when it comes to these things.

Have you contacted Shaftavision yet??

Re: COD4 yes/no comfim ** ** FIX ** **

Thanks, i'll just keep leaving the suspect lobbies for now. I doubt i'd get a refund because the story campaign and spec ops work fine, just multiplayer is affected. But multiplayer is all I bought it for, and the download + maps cost me 42 quid.

Its a shame a few people can ruin something for millions of others - and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Nor is there any noteworthy response.

The damage possible by a single attacker at present is equal to the effect of ME singlehandedly unplugging BBC 1 for the whole country on an Eastenders night. Yet because its just a game nobody does naff all.
